Even though your poem is very short (and it's difficult to write something meaningful in just six words), you have done very well.
I agree with what you say here. Effort is essential to succeed.
Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.

Thanks for sharing a great statement in this short three-line poem. It has much to say in so few words and your presentation is very good with the colours and photo provided. An entertaining short poem that looks like you worked hard to make it all fit for a small portrait that speaks volumes. All best,

No there isn't! I think you chose a very apt photo to match this six word poem as those horses and jockeys work hard to get to that finish line. I guess that's a great analogy isn't it? As each of us sweats and works so hard to reach that finish line we call the trial of life...Good luck in the contest!

It was your artwork that drew me in, since I am a an of racing and thoroughbreds, but your poem is excellent! Yes, anything worth having is worth putting the effort forth, and certainly glory isn't achieved without it.
Good luck with the judges.

I rode in a ladies' race once and all I can remember, apart from the chaotic start, was getting a face full of dirt and grit. Good luck in the contest. Your six words spell out a real truth.

Very appropriate, with the Kentucky Derby coming up, A lot of effort goes into winning. I don't like it when the same people are in the winner's circle all the time--owners, trainers, etc. That's the effect of the money they can afford to put into the race. I just hope all the horses come out of it safe. Love you six word entry. So true. You have to make the effort in order to achieve anything. Best of luck with your contest entry. judi

You're very welcome. This is something for young people to consider. Many of them seem to have the sense that they're entitled, whether they put forth any effort or not. judi

That's because their parents instill that idea in their minds. (Y.M. Roger had the best editorial on that last week. Did you catch it? You'd love it!) xo
