Well M8, your version of the Man from Snowy River tells it much like Banjo, did all those years ago. Very nice poetry, I enjoyed the read.
And so the story will be told
Around the fire-wood glow
Who was this man, they asked
Could be every mountain rider
who gathered stock in the hills
But only Banjo, really knows
Cheers, M8, have a good one, Kev.

Very well done. The poem is an icon in Australian literature and any attempt to rewrite or remake the story would be a task not lightly undertaken by most. You, however have done exceptionally well and kept the excitement and the drama of the story in an abbreviated version. The poem is a favourite of mine and so I am pleased to see it dealt with so capably and with Elan. Well done cheers Cass

A daring mountain ride needs no question mark.
I feel sorry for horses being forced to walk over rocks on the sheer cliff face.
A more personal approach to the poem would help but a good fact finding mission.

Hi Jan, Thanks for your review and have corrected the punctuation. These mountain horses are very adept in rough terrain and Banjo was a master story teller Cheers

This is an excellent nine stanza entry. Snowy river was a favorite show of mine. Your entry makes the whole story come true in your poem. Good luck in the contest.
