Hello Mystery Poet,
I enjoyed reading your quatrains poem today. The farm experience was delihtful. I have been nostalgic about my family summer vacations to the farm. I miss my granddad a lot. He was a wonderful man to me.
I think this poem meets the contest requirements.

This poem has lovely images of gentle days spent on the farm. You feel the lulling comfort of summer days---the farm napping, a few cows grazing, the lush green grass. I especially like the grandfather's words to the little girl. It is idyllic and at the same time, real.

Hello Author, I really liked the sentiment in your poem. It made me think about times with my Nana, in the summer, and learning to mke my favorite desserts. I would be remiss however, if I didn't mention that milk, au natural, would be anything but cold... anything coming from the body would be body temperature, and as cows aren't cold blooded animals... well then... you get the idea! ;) lol

Brings back my childhood days when I'd chase after my grandpa's herd of Herefords. It flows and rhymes most excellently. The picture goes with it wonderfully and I wish you the best in this contest!

Poignant - Nice poem. Don't we all have these memories of times gone by- of folks we miss - events that never leave our hearts. We spent many years camping with family and friends at a lake near here. Some of the happenings still make me laugh. They are sort of set in stone in my memory. Good job.

While I did not have the cows, I can recall this experience with my grandfather just the same. I still think of how he impacted me so many years after his passing. Great poem and nice picture to match.

I can relate to this because even though I've never lived in the countryside or drank milk straight from a cow, I loved my Grandpa very much and I still miss him.
Thanks for sharing.

I had to read through my tears. The only happy time of my life was living on Grandma's ranch with animals and my dear grandparents who loved me. This is a reverie I share with you. Very well done beautiful artwork. It fits the form chosen and I wish you luck in the competition.
