Hello Helen.. Like you, I did not know Michael very well at all. I have enjoyed reading the writings of others who did know him and have wonderful things to say. I applaud you in honoring him in this way.

I think we've all learned from him in the sense that he taught us 'that just to be a kind, caring person is everything.'

Thank you for taking the time to do this. It's nice to know that the FanStory community is as supportive as it is. The lose of any member matters, but Michael was a leader. His intelligent contributions cannot be replaced.

I'm sorry - like you, he was an instructor of sorts, he probably felt you had a niche to teach as well. Mike was the type of guy that you could ask him anything. Technical, FS history, Poet, writing, music whatever - he didn't care if he was competing against you in a contest. And usually won, but he was just a good soul inside and out! I'm glad you wrote this barely knowing him. I wish I had a 6 cause this deserves it for sure! Thank you for the special words. They mean a lot to those of us who had a friendship with Mike.

    That's what I remember - he wrote something about winning all the time and that it didn't mean it was rigged. Lol. He seemed to have a great sense of humor, too. So glad that you knew him, Fonda! Thanks for reviewing. Appreciate you! Hugs!

A moving tribute to a fellow poet who had been an inspiration to people on this site. I did not know him and sadly hear much good about him now, after his passing.
