Fonda I'm so sorry your friend Mike has left us here at fanstory - hearts are in mass in sorrow and grieving so deeply which shows the impact he had here - I being here only a month never had the pleasure of knowing him or even corresponding with him at all - yet I am here feeling saddened by his passing not only not being able to know him - but for all the ones that did and are pouring out their hearts in words - I am truly touched yet respect all that he done to leave such an impact on this writing site - it says a lot of who he was and he must look down and say - wow - I accomplished what I intended to do - because he was loved by all and it shows that in every post that I see - that's huge and I can see why he was chosen as the writer of the year - having said that I suppose in his heart perhaps that was his goal - to be that loved and respected pouring out his soul to help others here knowing inside his time was coming to a close - I salute this man I never met for his unselfish ways to contribute and help others along their journeys to make them better at what they do - God Bless you Fonda my prayers are with you during this time of grief and sorrow for a friend so many will miss here at fanstory - your friend Ron

Hi Ron,
I appreciate you writing such a nice review for someone you didn't have a chance to know but through others writing we are giving everyone a glimpse into this persons heart and soul. He was the writer of the year back to back 2017, 2018. Not only that but he made it a point to really help people that were in direct competition with him. He was gracious, he was someone that no matter what you asked, he would help. Unselfish was a great word - I wish I would have used it! Thank you for the blessings - I am still reeling from the loss and have stepped back a bit for the moment. I just wanted to let each person know how much they mean to me who have written a review on the post. I hope by Thursday evening to have some semblance of my composure back and will try to move forward with the goals and help others as I have stated to be like Mike. Thank you for being my friend.

Yet another touching tribute to Michael, emphasise how his personality on the site was so great. In your words,
'I won't forget and I will try to help others the way you did.
And try to follow the example of how you lived.'
You offer the greatest tribute. To keep his memory alive by carrying on his good work. Well done to you for writing this.

Dear Dr. Dip,
I appreciate the wonderful words of kindness you have offered in your review. I am very grateful that you enjoyed reading this chapter. You are welcome for my share. It is probably the hardest writing I've ever done. It is important to me that you found it a beautiful sentiment. Thank you so much.

This is a lovely tribute. You certainly add your personal touch with reference to how Michael helped you and you show he really meant a great deal to you. Your rhyme at the end of this is very touching and heartfelt. Michael would be proud. judi

Hi Judi,
It all started with reading your poem and then gut punched! Not only had a I just a few days back gone to his profile, and was dumbfounded that I had missed his birthday - and no notice of it - but that he hadn't replied or been on since the 13th - and also I made a comment and had an exchange with him on the 13th about technical crap. I just feel lost still - and I appreciate you finding it not only lovely but personal because he was a friend and a lot of people in this forum mean a great deal to me. I'm glad you think he would be proud. I felt ashamed and disconnected because of the stupid list and all of that - it was a horrible day all the way around, but to try to write this was excruciating. I am still having some issue with being on - so please do not mistake my delay in responding as indifference. It is still deep grief.

It was a shock to all of us. I was confused about what you meant by a list. judi

Hi Melissa,
Sorry I've been a little MIA - still trying to work through some stuff. I appreciate the wonderful words of kindness you have offered in your review. I am very grateful that you think I found different words. They were some of the hardest ones I had to work out in my head. Thank you.

A great eulogy, Fonda, to one of FanStory's leading lights. Mike and I joined the site at more or less the same time, and I've grown to admire him more and more over the years. A wonderful guy who'll be sorely missed.

Hi Dolly I got the 4 poem books but I?ve been so struck by events that I have them to try to read tomorrow when I have some time the covers are beautiful as soon as I finish I will post reviews! Thank you for your kind words. I?m very sad. And I know this will take some time to adjust. He was a very kind man to me. Thank you for your review.
Comment from Dawn Munro
Your tribute is obviously heartfelt. Mike was a special guy and you express that sentiment well.
Some suggestions/corrections:
"Opening people(')s minds..." apostrophe needed for possession
I suggest: "Mike(,) the sage (to whom I turned for answers)..."
No semi colons = "Your words(,) your light was something..."
"...without (refusal)."
"...I go back over everything I kept that you wrote..." - no comma after "kept" and omit the first "that"
"I hope all (we) writers..."
"As I picture..." sentence fragment &
ditto for "I think as you so..."
"forum that we love(.)"- no semi colon- a period.
The next sentence has a preposition at the end of it, so I suggest merely leaving off "of".
I am rating this purely on the care you've shown for a dear friend. I do not subscribe to the rating/ranking system on FanStory, as much as I love the site.
One more correction for your beautiful ending -
"So for your family(,) Mike(,)..."
This rating does not count towards story rating or author rank.
The highest and the lowest rating are not included in calculations.

I don't have it in me at this time to make any corrections. I am barely getting back to reviews. I appreciate the kindness you have offered in your review. I am very grateful, thank you.
