One can never interpret before something is written, how it will flow from the pen, oh the topic may be familiar, but what is exciting is the unpredictability of that final draft. Well done, a perceptive work, blessings, Roy

Ha, ha yes here's a gentle reminder for us Fanstorians to keep the writing flag flying high even when our Muse deserts the study - raises a chuckle too -no pic needed

I believe your philosophy for the most part is true. Sometimes just being tired can really turn off any creative juices you might have. When I feel I can't write, I jot down thoughts for future writings. Perhaps that's still writing. Good luck in the contest.

Excellent advice in short, poetic form. There are days when it does not seem to be there at all and if we simply jot down notes of things we see throughout our day, whether pretty, inspiring, ugly or bizarre, we are providing ourselves with material to use later. This was a great topic for this short parameter contest. I like it very much. Good luck!

This is a pleasure to read. Your writing is smooth and the language is colorful. Does that go for reviewing short poems as well?

This is so true. When writing becomes a "must", you know you're a writer. I've also heard to write every day, even if it's only for 15 minutes. The more you write, the more you'll want to write.
A complete thought...well done!
Good luck in the contest.

If you are a writer, then writing for you is much like breathing, necessary. Even when I say that I am not going to write anything today, I wind up having some of my best and most enjoyable writing experiences. If you are not compelled to write, then you may not really be a writer.

If you wanna be a writer then this is very good advice, Anonymous Poet.
One of the most successful contemporary authors of our day, Stephen King, had this to say about becoming a writer:
"Amateurs sit and wait for inspiration, the rest of us just get up and go to work."
"You cannot hope to sweep someone else away by the force of your writing until it has been done to you."
"If you want to be a writer, you must do two things above all others: read a lot and write a lot. There's no way around these two things that I'm aware of, no shortcut. Good description is a learned skill, one of the prime reasons why you cannot succeed unless you read a lot and write a lot. It's not just a question of how-to, you see; it's also a question of how much to. Reading will help you answer how much, and only reams of writing will help you with the how.
You can learn only by doing."
Best wishes to you in the contest.

This is great advice. Becoming a great writer is more a question of perseverance than genius.
I love the simple way you've presented your poem.
Good luck in the contest.
