What an inspiring story! You had me hooked from the start, and I was on that amazing journey with you. Congrats on that first 5K! You are so right in saying, if you don't show up, you don't finish.
'Then I was going to take my woobie with me to see the doctor who told me I'd never get out of a wheel chair.' What is woobie, is that a nickname for your wife? What did the doctor say?!?
Well done and congrats on your amazing success story!!

A woobie is what we called nylon blankets in the Army, i think a quilt would qualify. My wife's aunt is making the quilt and i haven't got it back yet, i figure Christmastime. I appreciate you reading and reviewing my work.

Thank you for honoring me with one of your six star ratings for the week. The real hero of the story is Anna. She went through this with me damn near alone.

Hi, Earl. OMG. what happened? why did you not stick with th eprinciples I showed you? those were not for a one shot just to get you by. LOL they were traits you ALWAYS use in ALL of your writing.
Your opening line is a good hook, but what happened to nice clean paragraphing? Your first paragraph here is all jumbled and too long. It should be two paragraphs.
Your other paragraphs are much too long. If you want to become a successful writer you need to stick to the basics I told you about.
Sorry. Bob

Bob i wrote that piece back in September. I should have gone back and edited it, which ill do for the contest. I apreciate all your help and pointers to help me improve. I especially appreciate you reading and reviewing my work.

Thing is once people see you are a good writer, you have to stay with your havbits. Tke nothing formgrnted and never post something that hasn't been edited thoroughly. You will gain a following that way. also, fn a few good writers. They can help you now and then and they will usually fan you in return. Bob

You are an amazing man, Earl, and good for you!! How inspirational, there are many people out there going through the same things you have. You can show them that with determination and a bit of stubbornness, you can achieve miracles. You did! You must let us know when you take that T-shirt quilt to that doctor who said you'd never walk again. Well done, my friend. I'm proud to know you! :)) Sandra xx

You are right about the length, struggles against such opposition have to be detailed, unlike a fight with a alligator or mugger...good luck in the share your story contest...

Earl, way to go! What a story! Your wife sounds like a peach! My husband, her equivalent. I have had a truckload of health issues and he encouraged me to overcome all along the way. It makes a huge difference when a person has a loving spouse by their side.
All my best to you and your dear wife,
Sally

Hi Earl,
This is a very inspirational tale and it does go to show that experts are not always that. Big believer in mind over matter and no one knows the self like self. Good solid write.
I'd never get out of a wheel chair. - wheelchair could be a single word here (and elsewhere it's used).
I had to take a vision test, reflex test a cognition test - should there be a comma after reflex test?
I'd probably never would have gotten my - just I rather than I'd here.

Thank you. It was an experience that changed the course of my life for the better actually, though it didn' feel like it at the time. I appreciate you pointing out some errors to make this piece better.

Well Done! Not an easy road but you got there in the end. I love the patients who defy the odds and there have been plenty of them. I have learned to expect the unexpected. Well written. Good Luck!

I honestly can't image what you've been through. I couldn't take my eyes off this story. The message in the end is very inspirational. I also think that there was no problem with the length. I wish you luck in the contest, but I also wish the best for you and your family.
