Very impressive work. I know nothing about life of a cowgirl but this poem, in its clear description, beauty, peacefulness and emotional intensity gives me a taste of that life.

I really like how you aPUT US THERE in that meadow in early autumn with Savannah and the narrator. Your emphasis on golden leaves emphasizes that fantasy aspect you missed after leaving for the city.

I remember walking out in that field to catch Savannah and imagining to myself that I lived there...I am glad that you felt you were there as well. There are so many cottonwood trees in western Montana and they all turn this deep gold in October - so beautiful! Fall always makes me feel nostalgic. Thanks for a great review :)
