A fine love poem of separation by death and of reunion "by a fool moon." The tenderness and honesty of your poem resonated. Your words flow smoothly, although there are a couple of areas in need of refinement:
(It) lasted long, almost forty years.
(Then) God and the angels took you home.
Note correction in parenthesis.
This image as powerful as it made me think of my on dog:
I search the house if I can find you.
Our dog Smokey misses you too.
You end your poem with a promise:
I come to you very soon
by a fool moon, always a good sign.
