I totally agree with you. There are so many marriages that just end without giving it that second chance. I'm one of the lucky ones, my wife and I have been together for 50 years this past November. Thank God for that, she's a wonderful woman.

It's wonderful to hear that you have such a good marriage, Bill, and it's nice to know that some marriages do last a lifetime with both partners feeling great love and respect for one another.

My marriage lasted 37 years before it died. We gave it another shot at the 33 year mark, but four years later decided we were better off apart. At least we tried again.

I have a new (4 year) relationship now and given our ages, it's doubtful that we'll hit even the 25 year mark together, but we're so very thankful to have found one another at this late stage in life, and we treasure our time together.

You have a great weekend too, Bill. Hopefully your weather is better than ours (snowing right now in Calgary and -12 Celsius. Brrr!

How many novels have this theme as the protagonist must move on after making a decision he regrets? And as time passes bringing back that moment is indeed an "impossible dream." Nicely put in only 10 syllables.
