Patty,
Have fun and cheers to the new den and desk.
LOL! They all got written up, well maybe they will answer next time. It's annoying when employees won't answer the phone. State employees, in Connecticut, never answer phones. You are on hold for over an hour usually. :P Can I borrow your fax machine? :P

"Well, I have a copy of her fax right here," as he opened his drawer. "You tell that little lady we will be sure to take care of her mail. We wouldn't want her to go postal with that fax machine of hers again. We all got written up for not answering our phones."
So, my writing has once again earned me a new title, and a good story.'
I am praying for you Patty nut boy you know how to write a great story! Fantastic work much love Meia xx

Good morning, Patty
Enjoyed the story. I could sense your frustration especially when inquiries don't generate a reply. Trying to get information from a Government Agency (Federal, State or Local can be maddening. Well done
Take care and stay safe,
Ray

Hello Patty,
It's a lovely piece of Biographical Non-Fiction having smooth and captivating flow throughout from the beginning to the end.
The most striking lines are: "...the clerk said, "Are you married to the fax lady?" And onwards...up to the end.
Interesting!

A very well-written story. It is sometimes better to make a complaint in writing then we are sure we will get the right attention. A phone call can be dismissed and forgotten quickly but a fax or letter will be noticed for sure by the right people.

Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do to get results, Patty.
There's a time to be nice, and there's a time to be not so nice.
I think you were pushed way past the time to be nice.
I've experienced much the same thing. Once, a notification that a package had been sent to me and instead of the mailman leaving it on our porch, he took it back to the post office with him. A signature was required and because I wasn't home, he had to take it back.
I was told to contact my local post office to arrange for pick up or the item would be sent back to Russia within a week.
I tried to use the USPS website. Nothing doing--that website is insanely user unfriendly!
I never did get ahold of anyone. Two days later the postman shows up on my doorstep with the package in question.
Just like anything associated with our government, the right hand never knows what the left hand is doing.
Good luck moving into your new digs.

Hi, Dean;
I really did a great job of scaring the bejesus out of the local postal people. Instead of having to go and pick up the keys at the post office like they originally told me -- my mailman brought me the keys and apologized profusely for not understanding the problem -- he was ignoring the fact my mailbox was full and he was having to stuff things into it,
Postal Patty is my new moniker,

Good story. Harrowing but with a good ending. They all got in trouble for not answering their phones! GOOD! I hate when you can't reach a person! Often it's really urgent. You were clever to use the fax! :)

Hi, Phyllis;
Using the fax may have been inspired, but I'm pretty sure the mailman hates me now. But - there are worse things in life!

How strange. A federal employee that did not respond. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very interesting read. There is good imagery.

Great fun story about moving, Patty. It's the little things like no post box key that can drive a person batty. The good news is, you got a really cool nickname, faxlady. And it's never a bad day when all the lazy phone deniers get written up by management.
Great good fun.:)

Patty: I'm glad you will have a big beautiful office to write your thoughts.
Clever story of your adventures in your new home. Now you have an
idea of where the post office is. You are off to a good start. Maybe,
send the guys some home-baked cookies. flylikeaneagle
