Hi Barbara,
This is a good chapter
I didn't know about the star of David
Or about the shield either
I enjoyed the video information too
Best regards,
K River

It's hard to nearly impossible to reassure those who live in the old ways to trust the decisions and actions of those who think according to the new. And of course, so many things become twisted to suit choices that it's easily understood. Thanks for sharing. :-)

Good morning, Barbara
As I've come to expect the dialogue, interaction between characters and flow were excellent. I loved the religious component. I liked how Shana felt guilt her father would not approve she was living with a divorced man. Enjoyed.
Take care and stay safe,
Ray

I really liked this chapter, and learned a lot from it. The video was really good, I would love to go and see it for myself, but that won't be possible. Thank goodness for the internet. The Star of David, that was another really interesting lesson
It looks like Shana's father still has a few reservations about her staying in a divorced man's home, even with all the other women with her. I wonder what he'll think if she falls in love with him!! Sometimes ideals have to be loosened a bit. Excellent part, Barbara, looking forward to the next part. :) xxx

Nice instalment here with the brief history/religious lesson and a deepening of the characters.
Philip nodded acknowledgement - don't think you need acknowledgement here. Nodded is probably enough.
Have your questions been answered to your satisfaction or is there more we need to discuss." - should have a question mark here.

I've made both corrections. Thank you for the catches and the kind review.

I am beginning to think Anderson may have to convert to Judaism in order to placate the fears of Shana's father. I do not know yet how a romantic relationship will work out between Shana and Anderson--a divorced man. Atop of the search for the painting and the romance between the two, this conflict adds tension that makes your writing compelling because I want to see how or if the dilemma is resolved.
I seldom read romance so I may be a poor judge of the genre, but I feel your novel is more mystery and thriller than romance. I do not know the last time the characters kissed, making this a very different type of romance fiction. It has a strong cultural angle and a historical angle, but it is not the type of bodice-ripping romance novels one would read on the beach. There are enough of those books, so I am glad you are trying something different and thoughtful. I always learn something from your chapters. In this one I learned about the Star of David.
Thank you for sharing and keep up the great work.

Thank you so much for your review. I am a different kind of a romance writer because I don't do boy meets girl and they jump into bed. I believe a true romance must be built and that is my goal. I do truly appreciate your review.

I liked Benjamin's explanation of the Star of David for Emily. Through your work, I imagine many readers will have their first taste of the Jewish faith. I think you are doing a wonderful job.

Very interesting. I followed up on this and went online to see the ancient temple and the carvings. Amazing that the stone pillars are still there, but it doesn't rain much or freeze, so maybe that's why.

Enjoyable chapter, sweet interaction with the little girl. Your video played fine on my Kindle - very enjoyable also, thank you.
just checking ...choose a book by its cover - usually said 'judge a book...'
Also just checking, since I just pop in on Fanstory now & then & I'm not familiar with Benjamin's voice - Attended & attend Sunday School - went to & go to are more conversational
"Jane, why don't you...Suggest you tag in front, so we don't think it's Shana talking.
Just checking...is there more we need to discuss(? instead of . ?)
...Anderson hesitated to search - or - Anderson hesitated and searched/hesitated, searching.... (2 different meanings)?
