I like this powerful little haiku. I can just imagine this poor little tree choking on fumes. I especially like the choice of word asphyxiated Thanks for sharing and have a great day

Comment from Gloria ....
Ha, yep I like this haiku, Gypsy. Excellent concrete imagery and yes indeed that poor tree will look like a ghost after inhaling all those exhaust fumes.
Really enjoy this one.

This is a nice Haiku.
It consists of three lines.
The lines contain a syllable count: 5-7-5
Total syllable count: 17
The image shown fits the poem perfectly.
--It has to be summertime. I'm from Mississippi, and the weather is scorching hot in the summer, especially in July. Imagine being pregnant in June and July- I had to stay inside. I gave birth in August.
Thanks for sharing.
Good luck with your future writing.

A very astute observation. You wonder how trees survive next to a highway. Somehow they do. They just redid the roads near my home and they planted lots and lots of trees.

Are those trees dying Gypsy or is it just winter? I could imagine car fumes and industry emission suffocating foliage. A haiku with an environmental message. Thanks for sharing

It seemed to have 17 syllables, very good presentation. It made me think of walking down the street in the nice warm sunshine. Not sure about the season. I would say spring or summer. Very good job my friend. Blessings, Teri
