A likeable story. When I visited Canaveral Air base in Florida, one person asked me if I wanted to become an astronaut! Well! I'm too old fashioned for that.
Coincidentally, I did a career quiz and it said, "astronaut". I love the planets with a passion, I like astrology too.
The way you worded the piece makes for interesting reading, thanks.

Funny about the results of your career quiz! You might have made some different choices too :)) Carol

This is a charming, beguiling poem! And I'm guessing that little girl was you. I am not familiar with this form; it seems quite challenging...but you were certainly up to the task. EXCELLENT work!

Oh yes, it was me. The form was created by Pantygynt, on Fanstory. You should check out some of his work too! Thanks much for the great review! Carol

I'll do that....and you're welcome!

Isn't it a cute picture? I always loved swinging (still do). Thanks, Barb! Carol

This is a beautifully rendered work on what might have been...The poem flows so well and I love the rhyming. The only suggestion I would have would be is the last line required by the rules? Otherwise, I don't think it adds to the piece. Seems like the line before would be a great ending...

Yes, it is required by the rules...rhymes with the last word of the trimeter lines earlier in the cycle :) Carol

This is a fine Pantygynt for the Potlatch
You're becoming the regular Gynt guru
From "flying Nun to Astronaut
and now a Meteorologist,
but even more important, a poet
The pay for poets is very good, so I
suggest you keep your day job
and continue to visit worlds in fantasies
and never, ever stop hugging redwoods
Love the sass of that last line
Another wonderful Pantygynt or Ciligynt
with marvelous art work to match
Very nicely done, Carol Cee

Yeah, I'll keep my day job for awhile yet. So far the poetry hasn't paid a dime, lol. Well, we will see once Gynt and I publish our book...who knows, fame and fortune might be ours yet! ;) Carol (Cee is short for Ciliberti - my maiden name :))

-Nice image and good poem.
-Good use of imagery; I also like each single line.
-I like the little background you give in the beginning.
-As most children do, you think of different things to be
at different ages.
-You take us to much later in time,
and as is the case as time goes by,
"change by life is wrought."
-I like your conclusion.
-Thanks for sharing.

One thing I remember from childhood is loving to be outside in the sun and wind - and loving animals. All those things are still true, even though I never would have guessed how my life would turn out. Funny how that works :) Carol

I agree, life is funny, in a weird sort of way sometimes. I liked some of the same things as you when I was growing up.
