Beautiful walk in the past, checking stepping stones! We all have moments we would change. But you're right, no sense going back. All those moments made us who we are today.

Hi, Teresa
= Oh, wow, what great storytelling. BRAVO!
= I was so engrossed, I didn't think to look at anything else.
= You just tell it like it was, and that's the absolute best way.
= I will definitely vote for you when it goes to the booth in a bit.
= Great entry, and good luck. Hope you win.

Hi Teresa,
I've never heard of "Do Over" stories before. Maybe because I quit writing poems and stories for contests etc. I love to write poetry so that's what I do mostly. In fact I'll probably be posting a new poem tonight or tomorrow.

I admired your interpretation of this prompt. Yes, everyone is "a little broken". Thank you for sharing your journey--your "stepping stone" metaphor is memorable and I appreciated your advice. Here's to the "child inside" you and your "mature voice"! Cheers and best wishes in the contest- Joan

Comment from Dean Kuch
"I know, though, without a doubt, I would never go back, even knowing what I know now. Each moment I lived is a stepping stone in life. It's my story, my heart, my soul. I've grown and I've learned. I'm still learning--it's all part of the journey." ... A young man by the name of named Travis Alexander, who was brutally murdered by his girlfriend in a jealous rage, once wrote a quote which I feel pertains to this paragraph quite nicely, Teresa. He said, and I quote: "The difference between a stepping stone and a stumbling block is wholly dependent on the perception of the one who is traveling the path." ...
"When they tease you, instead of hanging your head in shame or looking away pretending they don't know what they're saying, try flicking a bugger at them and say, "Eat this!" That'll teach 'em not to tease a snot-nosed, bugger-picking kid. At least you didn't eat glue like them. ...Or eat the buggers themselves, thank God. Heh-heh...
"Yes, of course, you're a little broken but isn't everyone in some way? The glue of God will see you through." ... Oh, yes. We are ALL "broken" in one particular way or another. No one is perfect, no matter how much they'd like to convince you otherwise...
"So, my dear little one, know that every step you took--right, left, forward or backward--every bump and bruise you endured, helped me to grow into the woman I am today. And I, as a still roly-poly adult, am a part of you. You are my child inside, and I am your mature voice nagging at you to follow the right path. Take my hand, hold your head up high, and together we'll reside." ... This is so very well written, Teresa, that I would be remiss to award it anything less than the six star rating it so rightfully deserves.
My sincerest best wishes to you in the contest.

I loved the art work very much
for these words written
When we look back in time
everything could have been very different
to what it is today we learn from yesterday
today and the future.

I absolutely loved this! What I wouldn't give to go back in time and talked to my younger self. What would I say?..."Relax, things will get better." or "Nope, don't talk to those guys! They are nothing but trouble!" Sad thing is, I just wish I could redo the last few years, and as of this summer, I would love a July do over. I should've never talked to those guys! They are nothing but trouble!
Great read!

Yep, we still make mistakes, not just children but as adults. We can't do do-overs, just move forward, forgive and be forgiven.
Comment from Gloria ....
Teresa this is a wonderful story of your older self reflecting with your younger self and the big do over which wouldn't be a do over at really because everything turned out great in the end, and still so much to look forward to.
One suggestion:
try flicking a bugger (booger) at them and say, "Eat this!" In both places.
Great job with this and best wishes to you in the contest.

Tab thats me, now this is a moving and inspirational talk to one's self. To be acquiesced with life and lifes lessons is admirable indeed. After all, it is what has made you the person you are today. Best wishes with the contest. Jimj
