Your authors notes has more words than your story. I enjoyed reading them both. I wish I had a confident cat. Very well written.

Thank you. Yep, the contest only allowed fifty words. Kind of tough to tell a story in that few words.

I would remove the comma after "meets" in the first sentence. I love the short story. I had a cat just like this, no dog came near our yard with him on the prowl.

Thank you. Ma cat was a unique critter. Most cats are not as mean to dogs as she was.

Maybe its just something about dogs that pissrf the cat off..lol

-Cute artwork.
-You do have exactly 50 words.
-Sounds like quite a cat!
-I like the title given to Old Ma cat.
-Snozzer did not fare well against her:
he left in disgrace; she had "another notch in her claw."

This is a fine, fun (not for Snozzer), story
The lesson: don't mess with a cat named Old Ma,
queen of the barn cats.
She didn't gets that name by chance
nor all those notches.
Great picture to match
Well done, for only fifty words!
Good luck in the contest

Love it! Like humans, some animals are born to greatness :-)
And when a cat decides she is entitled to the crown of Queen
you know it! (and so do the peon dogs - lol)
I always get a kick of cats running roughshod over dogs -and
your story mad me fall in love with Ma :-) :-) :-)

(giggle)..loved the story. It was so cute. Didn't read the rules, so I was startled by how short it was. LOL, Thank you for sharing.

Thank you, and thanks for the six stars. Someday I will have to write a longer story about Old Ma cat. She was quite the character.

Hmm, I think this needs more humor. There should be more of a punchline or a twist at the end to make the reader laugh or smile. You need an Ah ha moment.

Thank you. Fifty words doesn't leave much room for extras. That's why I ended it with Old Ma putting another notch in her claw and smiling about her victory. Sorry, you found it lacking. I will try to do better next time.

I love this so very much and a great culture to go with. It is a nice entry and use of fifty words as prompted by he contest. Very enjoyable.

Dogs can be big, mean and cruel
But for the cat, he is nothing but gruel
A hiss here, a claw swipe there
That old dog best be aware
The dog becomes a bloody mess
Once more a loser in the cat/dog contest
