I really like your chosen artwork. Never have I seen cows like this.
Great contest entry that has your first line telling us the animal and where. Second line is the insect that is annoying and third line tells us what season is here. I wish you good luck in this contest.
Enjoy this Saturday and Happy Valentines to you,
Jim

Thank you so much. They are Scottish Highland cows, and I love them. Thanks again.

Hi Anon,
This 5-7-5 is an apt entry into this contest and the image complements it very well. Thanks for sharing this and good luck! R

This is a very fine entry for the contest
almost missed those pesky little flies
as one of the "animals"
Great looking cows
Exact syllables at 5-7-5
Excellent concrete imagery
with good grammatical connection
and solid satori line
Must be pretty cold area to have that much fur
Very well done
Good luck in the contest

This is a wonderful entry that goes above and beyond the prompt and that picture and your words are perfect. I wish I had six to give. This is an eleven....

-Good artwork and format.
-Interesting choice of second animal.
-Line one has good imagery and alliteration.
-Good that spring is somewhere--the arctic blast is here for a couple of days!

Hi, This is a difficult task, well met. I like the way you come to the conclusion, but does spring need a capital letter = Spring ?
with best wishes, Writeling

Thank you so much. No in Haiku as in 5-7-5 you keep to lower case.

Cows and flies. Well you certainly got your two animals and what a contrast though often seen together in the warmer weather. Syllable count is fine so you should be in with a good chance. Good luck in the booth.

Hi there and thanks for sharing this delightful verse about cows and annoying flies. Love the picture .. those cows look like they are equally annoyed .. cleverly worded and most enjoyable read. Having lived in the country it brings back memories of how pesty those flies can be. best of luck in the contest. cheers mel

When I first saw this image, I thought it was a group of yuccas. Then I saw the hooves and noses. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read.

This is good. Cows and flies. Are these Scottish cattle? I ask because they're furry. 8-)
Good entry. Good luck!
