One of those days that would bring a laugh or two for years to come for this couple, or cause more than an argument or two. Great job, and good luck. :-)

Thanks so much for the reading and review, Ric! Much appreciated. The couple is recurring in my work, so they may very well laugh about it eventually:)
Thanks again for stopping by--I'll try to have a look at your work asap.

What a romantic story. You take us through a gamut of emotions going through the man's head. His doubts, his fears, his realization that he is in love. Then you finally get this couple together and we know they are meant for each other.
Great use of the text messages. They fit the story perfectly.
Love the line about rain being so rare that it has become a spectator sport.
Good luck in the contest.

Great story. As a resident of southern California, I can relate to the crazy, intense love of rain. It does extraordinary things to us...we fall in love, we stand outside laughing...we celebrate even a trace of the wonderful stuff.
Nice job, I loved this,
Carol

Thanks so much Carol for the reading and review! Much appreciated.
So glad to hear the intended emotional impact came through--the joy of rain especially for those in desert or near desert climates. There is an Israeli dance called "Mayim" or "rain"! Sure this is true for other desert cultures.
Thanks again for stopping by.

Thanks so much Teri for the reading.and review! Much appreciated.
Great point that texting is often not the best means of communication! The more direct the better in most cases although that's just what people don't do Lol.
Thanks again for stopping by.
Have a great week.

Hi, Stacia.
This is great! I really like how you've shown the story from Kevin's point of view. Your character development is excellent. I could feel his mix of emotions, transferring from annoyance, impatience, concern and return back to annoyance at Sharona's lateness. You showed this so well.
The build-up to the storm and the release of tension really worked, especially pairing it with the friction between Kevin and Sharona the previous night.
I burst out laughing at the street mix-up. This is priceless and so fitting.
Excellent addition to Sharona's journey.
Wonderful entry!
Bye

Thanks so much for the reading and review, Rosalyne! Much appreciated.
Glad it worked for you--I'm really happy that to hear that the rainstorm and tension and release comes through--what I was aiming for:)
I do owe a lot to Led Zeppelin for the story! "Fool in the Rain," if you don't know the song, is this fabulous mix of slow jazz and an upbeat samba riff, simulating the rainfall. I could hear it in my head as I wrote:)
Thank you again! Looking forward to seeing you in chat.
