A love affair gone bad. She was his muse, they loved eachother and had a child but everything was lost in a fire and he drank himself to death. Sad poem but well done!

I will accept your judgment of being a dark parable but it holds such an existential power that pulls the reader into the relationship and then again with the traveler. I hope you don't tweek this too much. It's a solid poem and I like it that you don't explain the parable. This one would be fun to discuss with friends over a bottle of wine.

Oh my gosh wow this was a very pation driven poem every verse made me feel something each word strung to the next told a pationate story of its own this is a true piece of poetry
