Well this was a tear-jerker, Carol! Beautifully written showing so much emotion through dialogue and thoughts. The added bit about the observance of that little boy was really touching. I can see why it was a winner.

thanks, Judy... I guess I've been trying to find a little inspiration so I can get the story back on track... Smiles, Carol

I hear you, Carol. I'm kind of stuck on my novel right now too.:)

The technical stuff gets so gritty and you want to get it right ...or the reader gets mad... And I need to tie in so much.. Taking a deep breath and hopefully I figure it out. Good luck to you as well. Smiles, Carol

Hello, my dear Karenina... Been missing our chats but I know that you are busy with hubby and working... just wanted you to know that I think of you often. As for the flash fiction... thank you... can't seem to get in writing mode with the girls leaving but I will soon. Have to get Beth and Ty saved and the others getting what they deserve of close to it I guess. Smiles, Carol

You always have a hundred balls in the air! Not sure where you get your energy, but if you can bottle it, I'm buying it!--Karenina

I missed this one somehow. You had me worried. Not all of your stories have happy endings but this one did and I'm so glad because I want to have a good day today. Thanks for reviving this one.

Good morning, Sanku and thank you for reading my story. I appreciate your kindness and the extra stars.... I feel blessed by your generosity. Smiles, Carol

You built the suspense like you were building a Lego skyscraper and kept me engaged the whole way. We knew everything would be okay, but not what manner of okay. Exceptionally well done. No wonder it took a blue ribbon!

Good morning, Sue... Guess I'm reading a few of my old writings, in search of that girl and whatever inspired me back then. I want the current story to be the best I can, but the "fire" isn't there. A lot going on here and it too shall pass.... I am glad you liked this story and I hoped you would feel the emotional wave. Smiles, Carol

The fire will come back. You just can't force a muse. They are temperamental and like to be their own bosses. Mine is named Sporadic.
-
I like that name... Thanks for the smile!

Oh my gosh, you had my heart pounding from the first paragraph. Everything about this story is so realistic. I want to go through and read all your entries, a few at a time so I can let them settle in....and then begin again...,,,

Glad you could feel the emotions written into the story and you too felt the adrenaline flowing in my characters. Makes me feel good that someone can still enjoy what I wrote so long ago and encourages me after such a long hiatus to really delve into my writing again. I've had a difficult time but I hope I can find my way out of my grief and be happy doing what I love best...writing. Thank you again!

I love happy endings but life isn't always that kind to us. Looks to be a great entry in the contest.

Wow...Putting some glitter in an old girl's eyes and a smile on her face as well. Thank you so much for the kind words and the stars. It's been a rough road but I hope I can get back to what I love writing. Smiles to you...Have a great day!

Hi, Carol, Glad to read your post again. My fault, not yours. This is an interesting flash fiction, and I'm glad with the happy ending. With limited words you have illustrated the right emotion for this situation. Thanks for sharing,,, :)

I haven't been able to write in ages and it was a thrill to start again and find that people still enjoy my posts. flash fiction isn't my best writing, but I needed to start somewhere. Thanks for reading, enjoying and commenting. Have a great day!
