Ha-ha! I would die laughing if I saw a sign like that in my church, Spit. But you know, it's really not a bad idea when you come to think about it. After all, love thy neighbor...but don't give them your germs!
Great, thanks for the belly laugh. I needed one about now! :)

Chia seeds. How interesting. You just stated one reason I couldn't work with kids. Sticky all over and runny noses.

You forget they also poop and pee and play with themselves ....but they also hug and are adorable
:o)

Oh, geez. That's an image that's not appealing if they forget to wash their hands.

You have great alliteration in the second line. Your 5-7-5 is very original and evokes a stark image. Well done.
Warm Regards,
Wendy.

So droll god does not do germs. Please keep your distance...perhaps miracles are reserved for only those that are saved?
Please do not shake hands or embrace passing the kiss of peace could give God to many miracles to perform

I get the humor of your review. Wonder if the common cold will ever disappear from life. Hey, remember, when we wore gloves to church? The service didn't include shaking hands. That came much later.

Alas I am not a practising Christian so I have no memories but I applaud those who have faith.

I have to be honest, without that note I wouldn't understand what the reason for the elbow bumps. That is the reason for the lower rating. I was confused. After I understand the message I think you did a great deal with the limitation of this poetry type. Very creative.

LOL. Even my doctor doesn't shake hands with patients anymore.
The less time touching skin plus a smaller area, the less likely one is to pass on germs. I mean, who coughs or sneezes without cupping a hand near their face. If you didn't understand, I assume you're not a churchgoer, which is okay. But why would you bother to read something you don't get?

I read everything. If I don't understand it as a reader I thought it would be helpful for you to know that I didn't understand it.

Whatever. :-)

This is great and with all the diseases going around, a little elbow pumping wouldn't be bad alternative. Great work with this one and definitely thought provoking.

Thanks, Sasha. Of course, if someone gets carried away and knocks too hard.... :-)

I attend a church once where only about 25 people showed up. At one point, everyone was encouraged to shake hands with each other...as in all...as in everyone. Right after this little ritual, a guy wearing a baseball cap...that's right...who was seated up front, began wiping his hands with an antiseptic cloth. Somehow, it destroyed the sense of warm intimacy so recently striven for...I like the elbow thing.

A baseball cap to church! How disrespectful. I get the point about intimacy, but I am very germ conscious too.
Thanks again for encouraging me to join your contest. First time I've won in a loooooooooooong time.
You asked why I was writing my bio. I got to thinking about it and realized that the eventual ending shows how much I grew spiritually.

offer the peace sign
pastor prompts coughing church crowd
elbow pumps resound
Physical contact spreads disease, so this is a great alternative.
Well done. Terrific art choice.
