ROFLMAO! Best medical pun ever! Bravo, Shari. There really should be some 575 pun contests. Why don't you make one? You're so darn good at this! :)

Do not have that extra sixth star to embellish this humorous yet very touching poem. You do have the knack for playing with words and I love the way you used the word Lump sum

Well-written 5-7-5 doctor/patient poem for the contest.
Funny, but serious undertone found here. Glad the doctor got the whole lump even if cost one lump sum! Good luck in the contest.

Usually the mention of cancer makes me sad, but I will have to say you made me laugh with this one.
Good job on the writing prompt. Blessings in the contest. LaVonne

Love the satire in this one. You have a talent for making your play on words both poignant and humorous. Great economy of words to get the most bang for your buck. Lump sum, indeed. Best of luck in the contest.

Cancer is a hard thing to beat and conquer and then of course you get the bills and sadly some insurances don't cover cancer treatments and stuff because it's so expensive. You want to fight to live but then it also comes at a price. It's a sad thing to have to deal with. Great job

Thanks, Meghan. Have to wonder if it's worth it to be in debt for the rest of your life. Depends upon your age, I guess.

I'm so sorry I don't have a six for this one, Shari. (I lived it - seven years this summer).
Very cleverly put. Lump sum .... ha!
I hope you win!

Thanks, Sonali. I entered at the last moment so don't expect any sixes at the end of the week. But I appreciate you're saying so. Glad you liked the pun.

Excellent use of words for this unique contest. The use of the words cancer and lump sum go together perfectly. In few words, you stated a real life situation, especially about the bill. Best wishes for the contest.

Clever you...there's a punster lurking in your muse...please do not fully release him/her. This quite good however...I'm always surprised how much can be packed in a few words...:)

Short works are great training on how to write tight. :-) I'm always grateful when my muse finds a pun.

Well that's a sixer for sure, Shari. Such a sad commentary on the state of affairs in the medical and insurance BUSINESSES. It is all about the green stuff. Great play on words with "Lump sum".

You're a doll. A sixer on Friday. The price of a doctor's visit alone is three figures! Thank goodness for health insurance.
