Fanstory is the right place to be at 64. most folk here are over that age and still actively using their brains.
good use of mono rhymes.
hope you have a happy birthday

Well happy birthday my friend. This is a cute little poem about being 64. Yes for sure the aches and pains will increase as the years go by. God is good, and I am almost seventy one, and still do a lot of work, so I am truly thankful.

Glad you are still active, bro. I do know a lot of folks who are same way past where I am, today. As you know from my book I have been on disability for more than 17 years, now. I wish I could do more, for sure.

Ahh yes, I saw that birthday a few years ago. My "get-up-and- go", don't get up like it used to, that's for sure. Happy birthday and many more.

On an express train that won't stop or slow down,
sixty-four down the hill and 'round the next curve
I find myself thinking (frequently) about this song

I just hope well meaning birthday greetings
come with that famed bottle of wine!!!

(5 stars) = EXCELLENT. I would recommend this to a friend! I enjoyed the read and found both the content and the construction admirably accomplished. :-)

What a wonderful way to celebrate your 64th birthday with this poem. Yes, that song made this age a milestone. You describe how it is like with simple rhymes and aching details. Thank you for sharing this poem with us on FanStory on your special day.

I had surgery in 2008 on my wrist and the surgeon didn't know what he was doing so I already arthritis in my wrist and I've had bifocals since high school. LOL. I laugh at people who get bifocals in their forties and complain to me. Their eyes get really big when I tell them I've had bifocals since high school. I don't know if you have ever tried a parafin machine. It melts wax and you can dip your hand/wrist or your foot in it. They give you gloves to put over the wax for awhile (it keeps it warmer longer) and it's so amazing. I use that for my wrist and haven't gone back to the doctor for a cortizon shot in almost a year and a half. Good luck friend and happy birthday

Interesting analgesic. I am on anti-inflammatory pills amongst all my other meds and it works most of the time. Appreciate your sympathy, thanks.

You are not that old. According to new statistics you are a few years younger. Arthritis slows you down but still you can do a lot of things. There a few medicines in the market than can let you live almost pain free to enjoy your life. Well written and many would relate to your pain. Good rhyme and a good theme for your poem.

A great picture that is a story in itself.
A fun verse, and a Happy Birthday.
Even the Beatles had no idea of what they sang:0
Despite the aches, it's still a good year!
