I didn't' get the Olympic reference until I read the poem again. Sometimes you have to pay close attention , or you'll miss the good stuff.
Sadly the above picture is taking place where I live. Walking on snow, on top of ice is, in my opinion more dangerous than driving.

Thanks for taking the time to read it twice. Also my reason for the notes as I figured it might fly over the heads of some.
Walking more dangerous than driving. You could be write. You could be hit by one of the cars. :-)

Clever use of the "Olympics" metaphor and play on the word "metal." The picture is a familiar one of late in our area. To portray drivers as ice skaters offers a novel and imaginative view of winter roadways. Good.

THanks, Roy. I decided not to spend the extra money to do the contest. I read the entries and can guess which one will take the prize.
