Superb! Your rhyme scheme is natural and unforced and the meter impeccable. I love the comparison of vinting and aging wine, delicious. A strong contender if not the winner. Best wishes. rj

That was pretty exquisite and I only wish I had a six left. A sonnet about a sonnet, how original. I like you comparing it with wine:
Each word should be the choicest from the vine
With taste that only skill and time perfect
Brilliant!
And I very much like the next line:
Fermenting in the mind before it's poured
Superb metaphors here
I had a good laugh at your closing line.
Yes, you are quite right - sonnets ARE addictive!
That was the most delightful offering, and I think we might have the winner here.
My only small gripe is the font size, it is too small for my eyes. I think, increasing it a bit would bring up the presentation.

Thank you for this fantastic review and for sponsoring another sonnet contest, Yelena. I had a blast with it. I upped the font size a tad. I hope you can read it a little better now. I dearly appreciate the gracious stars, Y. I'm glad you liked the piece. Have a great day. Thank you again.

I like the metaphor you have used and carried through the entire poem.
good Sonnet form. Nicely rhymed lines, good turn in third stanza and
a clever closing couplet.
good luck in the contest. Nancy

With great expectations from oneself we toy and scan the poem up and down to get it just right; having a tone od deep expression and description in the sincere words you speak.
Keeping to a very nice flow; with enjambments
Nice simile: To learn to craft a sonnet's much like wine.

Stunning words you have chosen to describe the difficulty in sonnet writing and it takes time to master the art. I have written and entered my first one today in this contest. It will probably be ripped apart, but it was very fun to write and I will tell you this, one day I would love to be able to write one as elegant as this. Amazing sonnet.

Thank you so much for the fantastic review and the big sixer, Barb. Yes, the sonnet's, hands down, my favorite style of poetry. If you ever need any help or want to know any little secrets I have concerning the sonnet, just give me a shout. Once you learn the little tricks they end up being fairly easy to pull off. I dearly appreciate the gracious sixer, Barb. I'm glad you liked the piece. Thank you again.

Love it! It definitely describes the song of the sonneteer. Especially the wino one. LOL
It is a work of art to achieve, that is for sure. Each word must fit or if not so, can altar the meaning altogether. And also the metaphor is such a task in itself. This is a nice one and well written. It has basked in the sun.

Well, looks like we have a winner!! Flawlessly executed, IMO. Each and every well-chosen word essential in setting up its hilarious conclusion. Wish I had a 6 left for it.

LOL. This took some crazy twists and turns, but I loved it. The third verse, as it should in a sonnet, took a drastic turn, and the ending with the rhyme: "sonneteer," is just awesome!!!!!! Wish I had a sixer. :( Les
