I have never heard Greek mythology put so beautifully and concisely. It was very enjoyable to read. The story is very interesting and God and gods is such an amiable topic. I prefer Jesus of course but that Greek is not so flowery and it is lovely but not like this . gods have a very dramatic life and everything has such all-earth proportions. This is a tragedy but quite light hearted with any heaviness removed. Thanks

but what Apollo does not know
is Cupid plays a wicked game.
A dart of lead will bring love low
so Cupid takes most careful aim

and Daphne's heart recoils with shame.
Apollo trails her to and fro;
she runs and calls her father's name.
Enchantment now begins to glow:
I love your story in a poem and learning about daphne and Apollo . I love the fragrant daphne flower
God bless

    Thank you for the encouraging remarks, kiwijenny. I am happy you enjoyed it and liked learning about Daphne and Apollo. It is one of my favorite myths. I cut out a lot of details from the story because I didn't want the notes to get too long. I am tempted to try the myth as a short story sometime down the road. Thank again. Debi

    Debi that would be great a modern Daphne and Apollo...any of the myths a Narcissus and Echo...

A beautifully written poem about one of the great heroes of Greek mythology, great poetic expression written in this poem! Enjambment was good, the writing smooth and fluid, the subject was well expressed and comprehensively addressed, nice abab rhyming, eloquent language, nice even meter! Well done, blessings, Roy.

This poetic form suits this poem very well. I am glad you have written about Greek mythology, I have forgotten most of it so this is a nice reminder. Good use of descriptive language and rhyming to convey your message. Lovely picture. Faye

    It's gorgeous!

    I have the best luck with Shutterstock.com. I download the artwork/photo to a folder on my computer, then it's a simple upload into your work on FS. They have a great collection of 'stuff!' (*.*)
