I so enjoy beautiful, heartwarming tales - of ice cold retribution. This is terrific - smartly told, excellent pacing and just enough words to nicely set the scene in the reader's mind. 800 words is a tough nut, I know, but you have done it quite nicely. "Sex and Candy" This is a very traumatic story you have created here. I am not familiar with drugs and alcohol abuse, and found it difficult to comprehend that others do this kind of shit. But, well done.

Derived, Wow.....when you gave me the last two reviews, my first thought was you knew more than you were saying. Now, I know for sure. I've belonged to a twelve-step group called Families Anonymous for thirteen years. Both of my adult daughters are drug addicts. In all these years more than 10 children of all ages, have died from an over dose, just in my small group. My daughters were on the streets at different times in their adult lives. It was my biggest fear that they would be found dead in a ditch somewhere. This short story is so very well written. Carole

Oh yeah, this revenge was definitely served very cold, icy-cold, in fact. But I can't say I blamed her, or that the guy didn't have it coming. No helpless and strapped to her bed in her seedy motel room, he has no choice but to take his medicine...literally!
Great story, very well written, with a chilling shocker of an ending.
This one would be hard to top, I would think.
Well done, and good luck in the contest. This should be a very strong contender, if not the outright winner.

Enjoyable if consciously taken.
This is revenge ten times over. And could be addicting in the same number of multiples. Well, such a pity when we age.

I read this openly not knowing anything about the contest. It was a good read at that. Then when I factored in the contest rules, your story hit like a ton of bricks.

I don't know if I was meant to laugh at the end, but I did lol. It reminds me of as scene from (and I'm sorry for bringing this up, because it was a terrible show) The Following. I like that you opened it in a meeting, but I'm left wondering how she found him. By chance? Either way, a junkie taking revenge on the cause of their addiction is a nice turn from the norm.
