Tony;
I really like sci-fi types of stories and this was totally brilliant and I enjoyed it immensely. Stereotypes she was how convenient for the people who have to reprogram the people who come in from off the street and different countries.
You handled this composure really well and the composition was done superbly. Your context, concept and grammar were all done correctly including your syntax.
Another scary thing is that maybe someday this will happen to all of us; a reprogramming of our capabilities, background and even emotions.
Thank you for sharing and posting this Tony and may the starshine need you the way through the darkest of night.
Alex

Many thanks for another fine review, Alex. You do a fellow's ego good! I'm afraid you are right though, conformity seems to be king these days.

This reminds me of a Ray Bradbury short story ..and of 1984.....Very Big Brother....very articulate and sinister
Well done...thought provoking

Chilling! And not far from the truth. Science is already cloning."cultural erasure" Oh, wouldn't the world be boring!
In some ways it's already happening. A fine entry.

Hmm, unfortunately, it seems some things never change. You'd think by then some of us would have had an awakening. Great dialogue, by the way. Very, very real. Loren

Thanks, Loren. You are right - it is a bit sad that we never seem to learn.

Love your story, Tony - I like how you toy with words and make them play along (Migrants / Migraines) Customs as in habitual ways of doing things, and customs as in Immigration Stations.

I don't think we need to wait to 2092 to see this story attune more closely to reality. We already DO judge folks for what they cherish, and yes, sometimes for what they think.

Customs agents are the same the world over - Enforcers who can bully anyone they like. If you show any attitude at all, you'll get put into that cultural erasure line, for sure.

Great story. Very Orwellian.

Rose.

You're not alone in thinking that I could not a few years off the fictitious scenario and call it fact!

Yes, it just may be that bad by the date you quote here, I am glad I won't be around to see it. I don't like what I can imagine happening in the near future. Good job, good luck Tony Nancy

Yes, conformity seems to be all that matters sometimes. A good thing there are poets to redress the balance! LOL

What an interesting approach to this prompt. You have packed a whole lot of philosophy into this futuristic scene, capturing the essence of the threat of an attempt to create mass conformity.

Thanks, Dallas. I enjoyed the challenge of rewriting a 2000-word short story that was going nowhere and reducing it by 90% for the prompt.

Hi Tony - This is very good. I like the year 2092. A bit like 1984 - seemed a long way off when it was written. Big Brother and all that makes your story quite feasible - frightening. Like the migraine/migrants - good twist. People must conform or get out - I remember Julia Gillard and her views. It seems as time goes on Science fiction and fact are beginning to be less distinguishable. I think you have a good entry here and I wish you Good Luck in the contest. Kind regards Dorothy x

Yes, it is sometimes scary to think how sci-fi becomes fact. I hope not in this case!
