Today, I'm alone. I think of tomorrow's world -
Will it ever accept without a need to explain?
Good-bye my love....
Oh, this is so sad, Dossie - I took this to be forbidden love because of prejudice. Everyone should have the choice to love whoever they want - it really is no one's business to interfere.

What a powerful poem, Dossie. This is touching in many ways and would want you as a lifelong friend if I had the opportunity, as told by this,
So, darling, from afar I continue to adore you,
I?m content to live without you all my days.
I have peace knowing our love is intense,
but too much separates us in too many ways.
Very nicely done. John

Very well written. Bravo! Just one more way that bigotry ruins lives in ways you don't evem imagine until it happens. Sometimes even love isn't enough.

Dear Dossie,
This poem speaks from the heart. Your friend must be lucky to have you by his side to deal with his pain and loss.
Very well crafted.
Cheers

This is a sweet, compassionate, and heartfelt cry for a lost love, Dossie. I am touched by the pleading desire that is so evident here. And the acceptance of the inevitable--the separateness of these lives--is almost crushing to us as readers. I wanted this person to fight, but I understood why he/she would not. Thank you for the note. I'm so sorry for your friend. That's why the work is so plaintive and sad. It's a beautiful piece of poetry and a lovely way to mark the end of a relationship that should be--and a love that always will.
You third stanza is the strongest, but it's a truly well-constructed poem throughout. Best use of rhyme: immense/defense. And your concluding stanza asks such an important question. I wish we had an answer. Excellent us of meter and verse.
Thanks for sharing.

That's a beautiful poem.
Sad, however, expressive. There is so much talk offering nothing at the same time. That is truly an art. GOod flow of rhythm and rhymes.
It is difficult to understand why we love people (man/men) who do not want to be with us. They just have issues... I suppose. Heartbreaks.
Goodnite Dossie!

Thanks so much, Alicia, for your empathetic and encouraging review; I appreciate it. I'm sorry I'm just now replying, but I've been super busy. The mayor speech and my coverage of it last night went over just peachy. I got an opportunity to sit with some real journalists in the media section. Be blessed. Dossie

A nice easy flow to this sad and whimsical poem! It moves with, what appears to be a mixture of romantic and filial love, along with a tragic pathos, an interlude and a partnership that may never happen! I hope sincerely it will change! Well written, with rhyme and proximate, rhythm consistent! Well done? Blessings, Roy.

Sometimes doing nothing is as good as doing something. Evolution has always found a way. The universe came from nothing. Being a friend is doing something. A shoulder to lean on and encouragement. You even donated a poem for the cause. good intentions and good luck, sincerely, wackydo

This is beautifully penned, Titanx9, and the love, respect and admiration you have for your friend shines in each wonderfully written line.
'Tis true, the only thing one can do is be there for our family and friends when the chips are down. But being there for them, helping them through a particularly difficult circumstances is what being a caring friend is all about.
Your rhyme and flow were excellent! Very heartfelt & inspirational...

Titanx, this is lovely with melancholy overtones as the love not unlike Romeo and Juliet is prevented by forces beyond their control. How very sad for this love. Nice rhyme and meter:0 GracieAnn
