I am reading this story for the third time and am still asking myself if I like it. And then I realise it is the wrong question. The right one is would I have like it if I were five. If it was my dad telling it to me, the answer to that question would be an enthusiastic YES.

Enjoyable story with a very good lesson. Just found two comma errors this time. :)

Remove the comma, since it separates the subject from its predicate... bin no-no.
>> and Bert * with his great big paws, would push
Insert another comma after BERT to set off the modifying phrase. If you do not, then you have the same error as the first one.

This is a lovely childrens story and I very much agree with your warning. In the modern world one can never be too careful where children are concerned.
