I enjoyed this chapter about your experience with churches. I didn't realize that nondenomination churches don't teach baptism. I know what baptism means but of course most churchs have some water ritual that they call baptism. In spite of the fact you're not a Theolog, you did a bit of preaching. Thats O.K. If this is your way to witness, more power to you.

Hi Beth I just wrote to you when I bookcased one of your new works. I was surprised this new chapter got out of the "pen" hehe before I actually put it up as I had not completed the initial edit. As to your question and I might also elaborate now you mentioned it..I do know Non Denoms who also Scripturally baptise the church I was a part of did not. The excuse was the church had been formed by some Baptists and some Methodists so it was a compromise in between Methodist Sprinkling and Baptist total Immersion. We had a big to do about it not long before I left that church. Beth fact is Baptism by immersion is a Scriptural doctrine. Christ Himself was baptised by Immersion not as the movie producers in some cases try to make out being sprinkled as I stated..I forget which movie it is but they actually did it right with Jesus Baptism "Greatest Story Ever Told!" I think! Beth I don't know what denomination you are and by the way the only reason we Independent Baptists call our selves Baptist is Baptist Doctrine is the closest to which we hold. We are probably, more Non Denom but as you can see that might confuse some seeing there is differences on Scriptural baptism. There are those who teach that Baptism is necessary to Salvation (Church of Christ and so on) "baptismal Regeneration" doctrine but then I say how about the Thief on the Cross when Christ said "This day shalt thou be with me in Paradise" Weren,t no water to baptise the repentant thief huh! baptism DOes not save neither does the Eucharist or communion or Church membership probably getting into this in the book soon ok!

I was Southern Baptist once. Now I'm Seventh Day Adventist. Both churches baptize by immersion. SDA's are not really legalistic as some seem to believe. We believe no one can earn salvation and that it is a gift of God through knowing and accepting Christ as your savior.

I appreciated our discussion earlier and I used my answer to you as an addition I am getting the feeling I should break up this chapter. What say you? I do have more I could add.

If you are planning to add more it should probably be broken because it is pretty long like it is.

Hi Beth had a bit of a backhanded 5 pointer review but I think the person did not like what I was saying re baptism. I made a point with them that paerticualrly the Catholic church claims it believes we are saved by Grace...then they add AND Traditions and Sacraments. Sothen Salvation is no more of grace alone. As I said Man seems to want to add to Saved by grace so Man can do something for his salvation which makes Christ's sacrifice of no effect. Thanks for getting back will decide whether to split it or leave it as is. I started to say to this last reveiewer it was my experience of the difference beliefs but I decided better not. My wife asked her Mother as a girl about other religions and of course her Mother took the catholic line No No no others Catholic church is the only one I was glad Louise was searching in her own heart for the truth.

Just broke it up Beth and addedsome more to the new chapter I think I have got it sorted about Private and Public now before I am done editing initially anyway. let you know soon. Cheers,

Your story is written really well, and it is interesting to read your views on the church and denominations. Once again, your memory of past events is amazing. :) Sandra
