You've written a free verse about any child's candy heaven. It's very descriptive and the bright setting and the picture go perfectly with the poem. This would be a good entry for a 'Temptation Contest'. A good read. Regards Dorothy

Hi Dorothy,
I am delighted that this little poem took you for a happy delectable stroll down memory lane.
I would bypass all the above candies for a raspberry white chocolate truffle from a tiny patisserie on the left bank but that's why there is chocolate, vanilla and strawberry!
When it comes to chocolate....i am indeed completely seduced
So glad that you enjoyed this walk on the lighter yummiest side. After so many seriously toned poems, I was ready for something easy on the brain..
Peace, hugs and lots of smiles,
Jill

I agree - I have a fridge magnet that reads 'Care for the earth - it's the only one with chocolate' cheers Dorothy

This poem though funny is real and it reminded me of my plump friend whose mobile phone is full of pictures of food, sweet delights and other tempting deserts.
Such an array of sweet delights and gourmet treats can make our heads spin so weight watchers have to be weary of these. Smiles.
Great write and well penned.
Cheerio, hugs, Ritchie. :))

Well Done ~ Jill
This is very sweet poetry. It engages the eyes, mind,
and taste buds. After reading this poem, it makes the
reader crave something sweet (we'll blame you for all
the added inches to the waistline). The attached photo
is the perfect accent to enhance the message. Thank
You for your creation.

Good poem describing a child's decision on what candy to buy. The bright colors and sweet flavors are a temptation to any child. I'm an adult and have a sweet tooth that I acquired in my youth. Now I spend my adulthood trying to reduce the sugar craving.
Good post.

This reminds me of a place called Jimmy's Candies. Great place for 2 for 1 penny candy. They had the greatest homemade French fries and his own rootbeer. This is a great piece of nostalgic poetry for me. Well done my friend,,,,,,Jim

What a delightful and yummy read. I love how you paired the picture with your fun words. It doesn't take much to make a child happy, does it. Brought back some wonderful memories. Lou

I love this piece, it is in fact quite nostalgic, bringing me back to the days of Sour Patch Kids, Fun Dip and Big League Chew. I really enjoy the free form structure because it gives flow and spirit to a childlike(in wonder) poem. This is really excellent work. Fabulous job! Namaste.

Adam's Atoms and Ego are biographical poems that I really love, as is to Rock and to Roll but it's on the lighter side. All my stories are serious except for Go Home which is a comedic piece. Thank u for the kind reply, I'd type more but I have my daughter in one arm. Namaste

Thank you for writing back. I will look forward to checking your suggestions out.

:p.s. if you want to read a favorite poem of mine, try "dancing in the kitchen". Not trolling for reviews just suggesting that you might enjoy it...

So many delights....so little time (LOL). I enjoyed this indulgent tale of giving in to momentary avarice. The candy stores dazzle us with vibrant colors and seduce us to succumb....and how could we not - such temptation....such deliciousness!!!

Ah yes....chocolate...the ultimate seducer! LOL (I've always wondered if Satan in the Garden of Eden actually gave Eve chocolate (an apple is never mentioned...just fruit of a tree - maybe it was tropical there and it was actually cocoa!)
It is fun, sometimes, isn't it...to indulge our lighter side :-)
But now you have intrigued me...I will need to explore your portfolio for the "meatier" stuff.
I guess, as introductory, I would pick "waiting", "the tribe" and "Honey, Could We" for recent additions.
I too, look forward to exploring a new poetry source :-)

Hi Lorraine,
What a lovely surprise to receive your reply with poem suggestions. I look forward to checking them out.
My own humble suggestions include " dancing in the kitchen", "rapscallions gifts", "I am your daughter", and "a question of forgiveness". Can't wait to hear what you think of these more substantial poems. Please do not feel an obligation to review them, I am just suggestioning them for your enjoyment...
Peace, hugs and lots of smiles,
