This is awesome, Sharyn, and please know that it is exceptional and I am only not rating it so because I have run out.

Love the zest of the internal rhyme and you have some brilliant phrasing. It is the concept of this piece that truly stands out. Yes, you are so right to highlight and capture this moment. Wonderful writing, Sharyn.

Kindest of regards,

Julie :-)

And I bet you gave her a knock-out high wattage smile! I can just see her ... now that's refreshing.
Starts off almost ranting, loved that, then slows, like the traffic, then hey, what's this?

This is cool, pinkish-orange melon cool!

So true. No one dances to their own music anymore, because everyone else's music is so darn loud. We have to concentrate in order to hear ourselves think and find their own tune. Lovely, Cindy

I can do naught but pull the 'six' from the firmament and lay it at your feet... for though engineer be I, some technology scares the 'hellacious' outta me. A year or so I'm back visiting my kids and we're all sitting in the den watching a movie and grooving on the 'all-together-again'. Both son and daughter are tapping keys on cell phones vigorously. 'Who you guys texting, oh children of divorced parents?' Both look up at me and each points to the other. I don't know if I should make the sign of the cross or go into strangle mode! They're texting each other in the same room? They got it from their mother's side of the family. My side stands on street corners with pagers and 'nines'.

Since you knows me, dear Sharyn, you knows everything after, 'And here she is...' put joy into the heart I hope to someday have again...

You are more than writer, more than gem... you be Sharyn

oh you gorgeous man you - your review had me laughing out loud at the vision of your 2 kids TEXTING each other at that time!! OMG - GOOD WE BOTH HAVE QUIRKINESS, OTHERWISE WE'D MURDER 'EM! :)s

I keep wondering, Sharyn, if 'quirkiness' is a defense in an assault trial... 'cause I have been thinking.

How delightful.

It seems that we do all go around "plugged" in at all times.
Last night I was watching television with a friend. At one point I realized that she was on her Ipad, I was "checking my emails on my phone, the television was on and nether of us had said a word to each other in an hour. LOL

Yup, I like your take on things:and she holds up to her mouth - nothing

but a sweet stalk

of

fresh

juicy

spring grass

and the music

she skips to

is

her

own

Hugs ,d

That is a rarity, Phyllis. Every youngster these days, can't cope without some electronic gadget on there body. Such a sad word these days, what on earth would this generation do if the electric was switched of for a week or two?? That would be an interesting thought! LOL, We would have a world of morons walking around wondering what had happened to their world, they wouldn't recognise it any more. Great poem and a great read! xsx Sandra

love it! " it'll crap-zap the brainwaves flat". who says technology means advancement? iphones/ipods just encourage a flat-world journey inward. got our kids ipod touches and it has become virtually all they do. had to take them away a few times already. can really relate to this. love your playfulness w/words and the last image you leave us with.

I'm glad I was able to give you a 6 for this. This is a wonderful poem which again seems more like a story. One that only your mind can create. I really enjoy glimpsing into your world. Seems like fun. Thanks for this, Sharyn. Made me happy.

hey Rob - thank you so much - another six! wow! :)))S

I don't give them to you because it's you. It's because you really are a great writer. You have such a unique style that no one else on this site can match. I'm not being nice.
reply by the author on 10-Apr-2013
I know that, silly! I don't give sixes to be 'nice' to anyone either - only if the work deserves it. So when I get TWO sixes from you, I give myself a special ego stroke, because I know the pieces must have been good!
