Man, this is a riot and so real. I can just see that darling little girls bright inquireing mind being nailed shut forever by narrowmindness of the old old lady. This was really funny and enjoyed the coloring images that can easily been seen as a metaphore for life. I can def see why you won and congrats.

Great poem about a child's perspective on Jesus aka Him. In our tradition red is the colour for The Sacred Heart so you were right. I loved your analogies with Santa and your PS was great. I'm quite sure She doesn't mind at all.Good stuff.

thank you so much Mary!

Good job winning the contest. I don't know who the lady was but SHE should have gotten herself an imagination. I think kids will do what they want with their pictures. Especially black and white pictures!

Hi Visionary1234,
Very imaginative and reflects a childs thoughts very well. Loved the ps and yes, I too think He or She doesn't mind. Thank you for sharing and congrats for the contest win.

This is adorable. Love the girl's voice throughout. Soo sweet. Who says he has to wear blue? Love the h H business. Of course, I was the annoying child who wanted to know why Jesus wasn't Cro-magnon man.

This addresses the real questions of little kids that they sometimes have in Sunday School. I don't think Jesus minds. (Typo alert: In line 14, did you mean to write capital "H" or capital "J"?) Good luck to you in the contest, Jeanie Mercer
P.S. I just noticed that this was the contest winner, so congratulations are in order rather than good luck!

I think this seven-year-old is right. Maybe both Jesus and Santa should wear red. They are both the important people of Christmas. And red is a Christmas color. She is also right that we should always let children use their own creativity and ask them what they mean by it. Maybe they could teach us something.

Fabulous poem in that wonderfully authentic childlike voice of innocent wonder. This was so dead on, I could go on and on pointing out all the things i liked about it, but that would be EVERYTHING, and since there's nothing I didn't like about it, NOTHING, I'll just leave you some happy little stars of appreciation, take my 1.12 member dollars and be on my merry way, ho ho ho...
Cheers!

don't bother - one dear lady decided she didn't know what was "right" or not, but she just didn't like it ... another was "uncomfortable" with the subject matter ... poor dear ... even an innocent 7 year old can't wow old wowsers I'm afraid! another dear lady had "trouble finding rhymes" in my free verse ... what can I say? :)

Ugh, nothing to say. I'll let Narcisa comment for me.
