Hi Bev,
What a wonderful essay. I was born and raised Catholic, school, but I never felt any connection with Jesus. Stopped going to mass at 18 and never went back. When I was about forty and at the lowest ebb in my life, a dear friend introduced me to Jesus and from that day to this, He's been at my side and the difference He's made in my life is more than I can ever say.
Excellent, m'dear, absolutely outstanding!
Hugs,
Gayle

Bertoldi's artwork is so nice usually. But I admired your story. You wrote so openly about the difficult way you went before you truly found faith. This mainly I think after a traumatising youth. Well written and held my attention all the way.

Dear Bev,
Your personal testimony to the love of our Lord Jesus is beautiful. So wonderfully expressed and lovingly told.
Jesus the Christ is ever present in all of humanity and His love is a dynamic force in this big old world. If only all people could put their pride down and admit to their need of His ever open arms...that may not be open for ever.
I am so warmly touched by your personal encounter with our Lord when you need Him the most...yes, He is always with us, even to the end of this world.
Simply beautiful, my wonderful sister, simply beautiful.
And to God be all the glory.

I have just finished reading "Left To Tell" by Immacullee Ilibagiza. Powerful book as she relates her experience of finding God in the Rwandan holocaust. Your story reminds me of hers; not the details which are totally different, but the end result. Wonderful and inspiring work you have written here. Well done, too.

i believe we experience Jesus Christ as our saviour when we are old enough to understand His love for us- and sometimes we agonize over it, when Jesus is already living in our lives.

This is an interesting story that tells about you life and the spiritual experiences you've encountered. I would not be surprised that at some point in their life, most people question their faith. It is good to here you have found a resolution which resolves your conflict. JW

Oj this is good. Very very good. For this to happen to you and you to tell us of it is monumental to the presence of Jesus Christ.

This is beautifully written. You chronicle your problems with your relationship with Jesus. Seeing HIm as the authority figure didn't seem to work for you with your problems dealing with them. You relate your experience of thinking of slitting your wrists when you heard the voice saying, "Don't you know? I love you." Seeing the paintings re-arranged is another well told personal story. The analogy of Jesus to the big brother ready to protect you from bullies was great, and your last paragraph was the perfect ending. judi
