An interesting concept for a poem.
Rather like a still life painting brought to life (if you'll excuse the pun)
I seem to remember a TV commercial of long ago: Go to work on an EGG!

I surmise that you are giving an example of your free will and an example of your daily routine. This is a real head scratcher but I recognize the genius displayed here. Great work.

There is humor in this poem, though without the illustration, I don't know if you could have pulled it off! Great image choice, great little poem.

I was looking for a picture of humpty dumpty to enhance...

Did you really mean rate "kindly"? I always try to rate wisely:)
Yes...it was about breakfast. At least it was about something, more than I can say for other things I've read (even that which is on top of the lists). Don't be afraid of the free write, it can be very liberating. Interesting stuff after reading your other offering--TedTh

I meant rate wisely...if you know what your looking at it all becomes very clear.
Comment from Kingsland
This is not really poetry. It's a statement of facts. Poetry needs some kind of coloring or metaphor. This has neither. It is merely a statement of fact I am sorry but I cannot rate this highly as I just don't read poetic thinking into it... John

Maybe John you would be better speaking to some of the free verse Kings and Queens to get their opinion...try asking wee bee and take a look at her review.

I know how to write free verse and that is not free verse. It is a statement of facts. Here is another person on this site that does nor know how to accept critical analysis

Sorry kingsland, maybe you did not see wee bee`s review and my adjustments made that enhanced my poem dramatically. That`s why I nominated her for the reviewer of the month and not you, my friend, many thanks...

I love the menu. Very well done to my untrained eye. The art work fit perfectly, and I sometimes find my eggs in the coop with a lost, and lingering feather. Good free verse.

A wonderful poem about the most important meal of the day! I enjoyed reading this. It reminded me of my daily morning ritual. Great job.

ah. weetabix followed with coffee
really does the trick for me,
sometimes I'll have cornflakes
it depends on which I see
Marmalade with toast on Sunday
Weetabix again today
breakfast time at our place
puts a smile on your face

Try putting that into free verse...then it would be your breakfast.

Cute poem written about an egg. I feel that way sometimes too. The picture you found goes with it very well. Your trying to write a free verse is good to me!

Very liberating, although, granted I have a long way to go.
Comment from Alan K Pease
One egg iis satisfying only with a piece of toast with jam. For two eggs, try scrambled. If you are trying to loose weight you will never notice. If you are judging poetry and love the free verse you are getting simply insert a rhymed poem in between and you will see the second free verse poem fresh and maybe a few dollars ahead or write one asyou are doing.
