Ah, this one got to be the winner! A beautiful poem telling a story in very heart-wrenching verses filled with love and affection of your parents for each other, wonderfully rhymed, I regred for not having a six, good luck.

Your author notes are superb-you have good imagery and a good flow with your poem-what an emotional write-your parents really loved each other til the end-I love all of your poem and where you write(Death is not forever-It's just an end to the body's pain) a powerful statement and true --a well penned write-great job.

This is a touching story in a poem, which you told very well. Every line is full of meaning describing the emotional time your parents went through knowing the days were limited. Their love was strong, and they lived out their wedding vows. All the best in the contest.

Oh my, this is a difficult read for me as my sister (and best friend) is going through a horrible cancer. She is only one year and two days older than me and I have reluctantly become the mom.

Keri, My heart hurts for the pain you are feeling. At times I think my fathers sickness was worse than his death. Thier was so much pain, and knowing the end was near made it impossible at times. Yes, the sickness is much worse. My sisters has been fighting for four years now. The chemo has burnt many brain cells and sometimes that's a blessing for her. My thoughts are with you in your journey without your father, it will be difficult. Blessings, Keri

So beautiful and sad. They remind me of my Aunt and Uncle. They were married 56 years when he got cancer. He died in 2001, but my Aunt mourns him still. True love never ides and you have brilliantly expressed that here. Well done!!

What a great poem expressing the love husband and wife have for each other knowing their time together is coming to an end. But realizing that death is not forever they look forward to the time they will meet again at Heaven's gate.
