This brought tears to my eyes. The image of Grandpa patting Davey so hard on the back that he almost dropped the fish back into the water is such a great moment. Every child needs someone to be proud of him like that. Grandparents are extremely special, and it's so hard to watch them age and then to lose them. I think you've captured this through the eyes of a child with touching accuracy. What a poignant, memorable story.

This brought tears to my eyes. The image of Grandpa patting Davey so hard on the back that he almost dropped the fish back into the water is such a great moment. Every child needs someone to be proud of him like that. Grandparents are extremely special, and it's so hard to watch them age and then to lose them. I think you've captured this through the eyes of a child with touching accuracy. What a poignant, memorable story.

Beautiful story about the wonderful relationship between a grandparent and child. I can relate to this so well because I too, had a wonderful grandfather. He loved us, of that I am certain. He has been gone many years but I still think of him....blessings

A beautiful and poignant tale. So much is said about the relationship between the child and his grandfather in a short, tight story. The dialogue is good. The story flows well. I got goose bumps at the end.
