You offer readers a big bite of information in this chapter, John. It is well written, But maybe its scope is too ambitious. I would have preferred to see this divided into two sections.
What of intuition? I understand the jury is still out as to whether it is valid to refer to it as a sense. What's your view?

Most of these beginning chapters will be woven into larger thoughts later on. Intuition is part of the development. Thanks...John

I will only add, that people's common sense undergoes a desensitization if allowed to continue. A good example is smoking. Our common sense tells us its a bad idea to set fire to dried leaves wrapped in paper and suck on the smoke. Our body rebels and the lung convulse the first time or two. In time, those body reactions subside and accepts the fouled smoke as "normal" and the common sense wains. The same might be said of the first white lie. Our mind reacts and tells us its wrong, but in time it accepts it as normal. Our common sense works, preventing us from causing harm to ourselves and others, but it can also be deadened. Ray aka R. Thank you, Ray. As future chapters develop, my hope is that some readers will come to awaken Common Sense. There is no other foundation to work from in order to create a different future. The words I write are intended to open new avenues for our thoughts to explore, not to glorify my Bubba. What will unify us is common goals that make sense...John

Amen... One can only hope and pray for that insightful moment. As human beings, we have a tendency to make life difficult for ourselves. Always assuming the answers rest in complicated solutions requiring rocket science or brain surgery. Somewhere along the line common sense is played down and we get trapped in the 'what if' scenarios. Ray

I see Jonathan Livingston Seagull is alive and well in your selected picture. Jonathan learn to communicate with telepathy, and travel by 'being there'.
Your essay is well thought out and highlights many points. I certainly agree with your conclusion that it is our spiritual self who is in control, not the ego or society. Cool!

Excellent essay on communication. The lack of communication is the root of so many problems. I tend to over communicate and have very little patience with those who refuse to communicate for whatever reason. Your article is well written, easy to comprehend, and deep.

Interesting essay, Cogitator. Much to think about and absorb. I like the statement that My true self is the captain of my ship. Yet I have to live in the realms of a demanding society. No wonder some like the hippies tried to break away.
Good food for thought and you did a good job. luv jada

Great writing on communication. Communication is certainly one of the important investions of our world. Look how far we've come. As a child, the television was the greatest communication tool. Now, my son and I can see each other as we speak on the phone. Thanks for posting.

Thank you for writing another enlightening chapter. Communication is so important to the quality of life. Just look at an autistic child who is unable to do so, to know how essential it is. We need to understand the how's, why's, and who's of the sending and receiving. I appreciate your continued efforts to expand minds and visions.
