Well, I can't believe it. You and I have the exact same goal. I have longed for this, for years. I want my pets, a cabin, SOLITUDE and PEACE! Just to be left alone so I can paint and write? I love this. And Debbie, I wish this for you too. I really do. IF ONLY! ") Keep at it, and you will make it. It's almost too late for me. A warm and friendly hug to you my friend...susan

It's never to late to live each day to its fullest. Maybe it is time to change your long-term goal to something more achievable. But you can start today living life to the fullest.
Or maybe we should both run away and find that cabin now. Hey we should each write a short story about what life would be like in our cabins and see how different they are!!! I am going to write mine this afternoon! It never hurts to dream. Luv ya,Debbie

You have penned some really fine advice here this morning, if I may say so myself. (as they would say in the mountains of North Carolina)

This is advice I try to follow as a former "I can't be happy until everything is done" person, after my accident I began to realize that I needed to live each day to its fullest as you never know if there will be another day.

You make the point so well, Debbie, that we can't wait to be happy and feel successful until all our goals are completely met.
Your essay about living in and appreciating the present is most thoughtful. Brooke :-)

Thanks for straightening me out on that sentence. I had gone back and forth with which one was right. I really appreciate your keen eye for detail. I know after you read something that it will be right. I appreciate that very much. Thanks so much for the review! Debbie

dejohnsrld,
I enjoyed reading this essay and agree with the message it contains. Our lives switch as we get older and there is a greater tendency to live in the past and less future to plan for. Well done.
