missmerri,

Aloha!! LOL Bravo!! You were so creative with this!! I don't believe it! What a masterpiece! It was very entertaining to read. I love your use of his song titles in this poem. How could he say no?? to you??

Here are some of my favorite parts, not all of them:
"but I am hoping, through this letter, soon
you'll understand the reason that I swoon"

"I'm All Shook Up, but That's All Right. I know
Heartbreak Hotel is where I need to go."

"If you would Love Me Tender, I would choose
to not step on your lovely Blue Suede Shoes."

"Suspicious Minds may think this isn't real,
but I'm explaining how I truly feel."

And your ending!!"Don't Be Cruel to a heart that's true." Oh my!!! I love this poem!

SweetLinda

This is a beautiful poem about love that lasts and is forever. Like to send a poem I wrote about these kind of deep love that lasts forever.
He is the one I love so much,
His tender eyes, His slightest touch.
Unearthly is His deepest look,
lovely like a sparkling brook.
His words are music to my ears,
deeper than my heart can share.

This is superb! Although I had to chuckle when the narrator wrote "to captivate and win just one embrace
from one I have not met yet, face to face."

Love how you embed song titles within the verse. Rhyme and metre work nicely.

Good luck. So many great entries.
Merle

Hello Miss Merri! What an entertaining poem. It's creative and made me smile with all the song titles. I just may have to have an Elvis concert here tonight. Best wishes in the contest!

Thank you for noticing the song titles. I hoped it would be clear. My mother loved Elvis' music so I've heard a lot of it. This was fun to do. Thanks for tuning in. :P
