Lol. Well, I'm so out of it and you're just a few years younger than me (graduated high school in '76 and you mentioned something about '77) I don't know what "indie" is. And frankly, they didn't really play much country music back then in Hawaii. But I'm told that it changed a lot over the years and so maybe you'd like it now.

Lol! Well, thank you so much for the great review! I truly appreciate that! Indie is just modern alternative music.

Harry,
This is a wonderful poem. I don't know if you like country music or not, but that's your choice and it shouldn't offend anyone. I like country music and I wasn't offended and I don't think any one else will be.
Great job
Cecilia

Haha! I take it you're not a country fan! I love the rhyming here and the lyrical beat that could well be put to music, maybe, in your preferred rock genre:)) Great pic and quote too (It can all be a bit depressing sometimes!)
Take care Debbie
PS If you do go for that drive, take it steady won't you?:))

I love SOME country music, but not all. Your poem definitely lets us know you don't care for it at all. Country music is often sad, I guess it's all those "lonesome cowboys" writing about their heartaches.Anyway a fun read. I enjoyed it.

I enjoyed your content of this poem expressing your feelings about country music. Good thing you aren't living in the 50's, 60's, 70's even into the 80's. Country music was never like it is now. If you have a southern drawl accent you can pretty much sing country to any style of rhythmic music, as long as your lyrics have beer, woman, a dirty truck or a dog in them. lol
One thing that is an important observation is; this layout confuses the reading of it, therefore, the rhymes do not naturally flow into each other. Find a pattern you want to use, for rhyming and the number of lines in a verse, to follow by.
These lines could be lyrics with a country tune. lol
just a small example of easier flowing lines with less confusion;
all the lines, I have given 8 syllables to them:
eg.
Don't want to hear, how it's all been
Makes me feel, like I am dying
Country music I just don't need
If I played it, I'd be lying
It only starts my ears to bleed
.........................................................
.........................................................
( you need to write these next 2 lines with 8 syllables in each and rhyme the 1st and 3rd lines)(you will see the pattern in verses, 4, 3, 4, 3, 4, 3, 4)(each line has 8 syllables)
(Sorry I never meant to do entire poem but it wouldn't have been, a good enough example for you to see the difference in styles, by only doing one verse. Use it if you choose to and see the results.)
cont.
Country music plants it's own seed
Puts me in some, bad depression
Totally something, I don't need
Comes with it's own indigestion
Oh how it starts my ears to bleed
Get rid of that Country music
Take me home, to my sweet Indie
Just give me that roaring Indie
She gets me into driving fast
Even if days become windy
I don't plan on comin in last
My sweet Indie is so trendy
Take this Country, that I don't need
Just wanna hear, my loud Indie
Racing Indie makes me happy
Wanna call up, sister Cindy
Tell her I think, Country's sappy
Glad for my sweet, roaring Indie
hope I haven't offended you by revamping your poem. just thought I could help.

Great job with a bit of humor for our beloved country music. Sometimes it's easy to laugh at some of the sappy, cheesy, love lost sad words in their songs.
I definitely love your picture and the jukebox saga. Lol
I do love me a good country song and enjoyed your satire. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Your poem made me smile! The way you play with words is so fun. I love how you used humor to show your music preference. The line "It makes my ears bleed" was especially funny. It's got a great energy - thanks for sharing this fun poem!

Ha ha ha, you made me smile here Harry. Your beloved country music is not at all popular in the UK and when I visited Florida one time I bought myself a stetson and listened to country music on the radio to get into the American way of life! My husband laughed at me, but I was having fun. I especially loved Blake Shelton as he sand a song called Austin and I fell in love with that song at the time. But here you don't like country music but indie music, but I have no idea what indie music is? Ha ha ha, perhaps some notes might help.
I enjoyed your melodic poem Harry, love Dolly x x x

Indie music is basically modern alternative. Bands like New Order, The Cure, The Pyschdelic Furs, Depece Mode, The Smiths, The Ocean Blue, Queen. These are played on indie stations here. My favorite bands are all from England, lol!!! David Bowie, etc.

That all sounds so good!
