Debbie,
Thank you for the wonderful review. It took me a minute to get the first stanza, but after that it was a piece of cake. What does that say about me.

You're an excellent writer!!
-
I wish I had as much confidence as you do. I think sometimes we are our hardest criticss
-
That's okay if we aren't our own critics then who would we have to yell at. The Dog? lol You do better than me at times, and I just sweep it all under the rug and boy is it bumpy when you walk on it! Have a good day.
-
You are so funny my friend. I don't have carpet, so I have to sweep it in the corners. :)
-
Oh, put it under the bed, husband won't know unless he has allergies. lol

Poem is good. Font is too small. It was hard to read. People give up if it is difficult. This was creepy and scary. Thank you. You sure are improving. I am posting a new story on Sunday. I am reviewing my heinie off to earn points.

Karen,
Thank you for the wonderful review. In the club page there is no option to make the font bigger. I always bold it an make it bigger, cuz I have problems reading the smaller font myself.

Ask Tom about that. On your message page where you get our stories, there is a button that says contact us. press it and write Tom a letter. :-)
-
What am I going to ask him?
-
What can he do about the site having such small font size people can't read it. He ought to be able to fix it. Karen
-
You know him better. You ask him. My memory is good it's just short
-
It is not my group. One of you have to do it. Karen
-
I will ask him. It could be just a club thing, because they are the same in that aspect.
-
Let me know how it turns out. Karen
-
ok

This poem, Insane, speaks through the souls of those who spent their last moments of life behind these walls where torment and suffering were big on the treatment list.

Bill,
Thank you for the wonderful review. Yes, back in the day the insane asylums weren't a very nice place to be. I think they were treated worse than animals.

I liked the short, staccato rhythm of the language here, the sense of a forced emotion almost. The images of these walls closing in on you, these empty beds, speak to the sense of separation from society, the loneliness, the sense of no escape, no redemption. We really get a strong sense of what it might be like to be condemned into a place, or a life, like this. estory

Estory,
Thank you for the wonderful review. I heard the asylums in the early days were horrific. I tried to bring that into this poem.

yikes! lol When you say you're going to get twisted, you aren't kidding. Scary words and that picture is gruesome. If ever there was a place likely to be haunted it is there. I like that you used multiple stanzas for the poem too. Great job.

Marilyn,
Thank you for the wonderful review. I told you I am one twisted sista' and get it writing them. It took me a minute to get the first stanza, but after that it was game on. I am glad you liked it.

In the US our early asylums were horrible, and they staff did unthinkable things to the people who were placed in their care. I'm glad they passed laws to help but I'm pretty sure they are not enough. Thank you for sharing this club entry with us.

Barbara,
Thank you for the wonderful review. I know the early asylums were awful. I don't know how anyone could put a loved one in that type of facility back in the day.
