Agreed. The hostilities continue, both domestic and foreign. life continues, but does not get better for those who are not in the elite class. They always have peace because they direct who goes to war. It's never them.

I know right? You are so smart Thesis. I think we should hand them an M-16 and drop them for a C-130 right in the thick of it. Maybe they would fund the VA better to take care of our crippled veterans!

Being retired military, I've seen both sides and have been left confused as to why we keep inventing new ways to demean, maim, and destroy each other. Your words are haunting. I hope one day we'll see the light. Thanks for sharing this. Be well.

Yes sir! YOU are so right. It is the politicians doint it. We need to hand them an M-16 and drop them from a C-130 right in the thick of it and maybe they would better fund the VA to take care of our crippled veterans.

They'd be the first to demand support from the VA. Have a great day.

The poem is a good rant or observation. It is an emotional statement. The rhymes are solid. But... other than mentioning the obvious, and what everyone has known for all of human history. What does it do? No insult but, what is the purpose? Peace is good. Okay?

notes:

The rich keep getting strong
While the poor keep dying young
And that is just so wrong

_ I would reconsider this section. It deviates from the rest. Before you are merely pointing out what humans have been forever (with no solution). But here, you are purposely singling out particular groups of people, with a pointed (seemingly biased and unsupported) opinion.

When will the words sweeten our tongue[?]

Oh, the mystery. Isn't that the beauty of poetry?

Very well crafted, so say I, a non-poet.
I don't know the rhyming pattern, but neither do I know that it requires one.
To your question, as long as someone has something others want, there will be war. (sadly)
Best wishes.

This poem is a deeply emotional and poignant reflection on the harsh realities of the world--war, inequality, and the persistent struggle for peace. The poet effectively conveys a sense of sorrow and frustration while yearning for a better, more compassionate world.

Well spoken, impounding statements of a none warrior heart: they whom will possess the earth. Have no doubt this is hell not heaven. Appeasing as things seem: it's an illusion. Great shout.

Sometimes songs and poems have simple, fairly repetitive lines, but still manage to convey a deeply serious message. Today is Joan baez's birthday and for some reason your poem reminded me of her singing 'Blowin' in the Wind.'

I'm interested in why you chose to change your rhyme scheme in the final stanza. I'm guessing it was so you could return strongly to the overall theme of peace and to emphasise it with the new rhyme. Maybe Dylan would have accomplished the same thing by putting the important lines in a repeated chorus. The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind!

Thank you so much Steve for your kind review. I have to say I wrote this poem the other day after go to the theater and watching the movie a "Complete Unknown" about Bob Dylan. He has always been one of my favorite song writers. And like him - I chose not to follow the rules and regulations of writing. I guess some times that is good and some times it is bad...

Ha! That's funny I made the jump to baez/Dylan then. Waiting for that movie to become available here.

Man's inhumanity to man; your poem sums up the situation across the World. There is no love, hate has taken first place. Satan is alive and well on planet Earth.
Like Trump, he giggles at the pain man is going through. He takes everything and gives nothing in return. We need to stop thinking God will fix things. It is up to us to "love one another as God has loved us." Well done.

Hello Harry, your poem brings to light the futility of wars and need for peace all over the world. Does humanity need to destroy or kill to be alive? Well written, dear Harry. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
