Your poem makes me want to see if flickering candles could inspire me to write more. You make it easy for us to visualize this scene of flickering wild shadows on windless evening. Rod

Hello Rod... remember Dean K? He told me once to write at night to the light of a candle and that the inspiration would be phenomenal... I have tried it and have gotten really good results. Now, you must remember he wrote a lot of spooky stuff ~ mine isn't. Anyway, thanks so much for your review.

Yes, shadows can be a great inspiration, as they create all sorts of shapes that get the imagination turning, an excellent 5-7-5 entry, very well written and presented, best wishes for your contest****kahpot

Hello Kim... thanks so much for the review. My muse can seem to flicker and wane, just like a candle, so when she's whispering, I had better pay attention. LOL. Thank you.

So, even on windless nights the muse whispers cast wild shadows letting us know you are about to write something magnificent. I love the idea of wild shadows against the wall of a candle with no wind at all to send it to the moon and above.

Hello Jesse. Well, that's me trying to infuse a bit of mystery again... and since all I am writing seems to be the shorter poems, well, I make it hard on myself. Hopefully, after the first of the year, longer poems will be born. Thanks so much, my friend.

Keep trying. Your muse will develop a great poem in a short form if you want it hard enough.

Sugarray,
This is a great 5-7-5 poem. I like how your whispering muse is in the house with the shadows. I can't keep track of my muse she likes to disappear on me.
The picture you chose compliments the poem nicely.
Good luck in the contest.
