I love your story told...in Maine...or just Down Under...
Santa will be flying over your house on Christmas night...
make sure you get to bed early...
I love your poem...made me smile...and I love your picture...
I lived in Florida 21 years...and now live in Illinois...
I like Christmas up north...and love a white Christmas...
very well written...love Linda xxoo

Oh how I wish I still had a sixth star in my pocket. I truly feel this is worthy.
You told a great story here in well written rhyme and easy to manage cadence.
There are to many lines to repost here which I thought should be highlighted.
Best of luck in the contest...

I remember spending Christmas in Perth in the 80's during the Worlds Cup race. I was in the Navy and had a blast in Australia. You folks know how to do it right. A wonderful poem that took me back.

Excellent put together. Nice rhyming and I had a smile throughout. Usually bloody hot down here for Christmas, so it is air conditioning that gets a go. Thanks for sharing and all the best for the Christmas and New Year period.
Cheers

Thanks, Barry. We had snow the other day, but it all rained off.

An excellent entry for the Free Form Christmas poem writing prompt. It is hard to remember at times that weather is so totally different elsewhere in the world at Christmas time. This was a very fun and festive poem. good luck in the contest.

I could write a verse back as a response but I don't think I will. That wouldn't be fair:) A possibly over-lengthy verse that might have been better for the contest if a tad more punchy and to the point. But there's no denying that a lot of thought has gone into this imagined Christmas down under. I enjoyed the contrast between a cold climate and a hot one at Christmas and the technical issues that would need to be overcome for Santa to get his sleigh on the road. My main concern here is whether this is considered 'free form' as it has a regular rhyming pattern and is, for the most part, metered. We'll see. But an entertaining and original entry for the Christmas theme. Good luck! Debbie

Thanks, Debbie. I can't seem to write an unrhymed poem.

I don't think this really fits the free form type, that it's suppose to, but nevertheless as an Aussie who always faces a hot Christmas, and Santa still wears his cold gear down here too, I really enjoyed this fabulous write, well done and good luck, blessings Roy

Your poem made me smile. I have spent a couple of Christmases down under in the sun and they have been very different to Christmases in the north, both are enjoyable and you brought all the fun of Christmas in Australia here, I enjoyed the ride, love Dolly x x x
