Your picture reminds me of a selection from Handel's Messiah that I'm listening to right now....
And he shall feed his flock like a Shepard. And he shall gather the lambs with his arms. And carry them in his bosom.
This must have taken a lot of work. I throughly enjoyed it Debbi. Fantasic work!

Hi Katie, it did take a while but mostly to go through the Bible to get the wording perfect. Most of them I had memorized.
I can't thank you enough for the very lovely words for my scripture poem. This was very rewarding and I enjoyed doing it every minute. So I truly appreciate your kindness. Also for the generous six star rating.
I thank you again, my dear friend.

Thank you for sharing this club entry with us. Your poem and scriptures were perfect and exactly what many of us needed during this trying time. We need to remember exactly what this season is all about and not worldly things take over our lives.

It's funny how Mary Magdalene thought of Jesus, but I do know she'd never met any man like Jesus, who loved her so differently from other, treated her with honour and in the way only God can love, the song brings tears, such a wonderful saviour, Helen was an Aussie. Beautifully written, blessings Roy

Hi Roy, if you are talking about the song, then I have to tell you that when the Rock opera first came out, I was appalled by it. Because of how I was raised it seemed to be blasphemy to portray Jesus in that way. Now I don't know because I never saw it, but I am more open minded now. However, when I finally understood what she is saying in the song, I realized that it was a lovely song that was appropriate. I love Helen Reddy too. That is partly what I love most about her is that she is an Aussie. Her accent is adorable. LOL
Anyway, I can't thank you enough for the very lovely words for my scripture poem. This was very rewarding and I enjoyed doing it every minute. So I truly appreciate your kindness.
I thank you again, my dear friend.

I saw the original, but a lot of the church traditionalists didn't, we know that Mary loved Him, because she saw something in Him that was so different from other men, He loved her because He loved mankind, and how much more because she turned from her former ways and followed Him. Like I did nine years later, bless you Debi.

When I saw how wrong my church was I started acting out with partying and gambling and figured the way they told it I was going to hell anyway cause all I did was wrong. But when I saw them change to normal and how I felt about Christianity followed that I went back to church and my faith again.
Anyway that is when I started liking the song a lot better.

Yes, I met "normal' people who were Christian and just loved me, and loved God, God loved ordinary men and women, irrespective, the woman at the well, He healed the Pharisee Jairus and healed His daughter, what a saviour.

Awe, Ric, thank you. Yes, I saved that verse for my last one because it was my favorite verse. I almost used "For God so loved the world" in the poem as well as it being in the scripture, but I had to try to switch my words a little so it didn't look like I was copying and not writing my thoughts about the scripture. But that is truly my favorite and reminds me every time how deep that love goes. Way beyond our understanding! I love that it seems to be your favorite too. Thanks again, Ric. Love, Debi

Yes, ma'am, it certainly is my favorite! Hugs and smiles! Ric

What a great idea to the scripture and you into poetry. It is also a tool for learning them and remembering them as for times when you need strength to go forward. I really enjoyed reading your encouraging poem.

I love this idea! It's sort of like a Bible Study/ poetry reading. you did a lovely job putting this idea together. Then you topped it all off with one of my favorite songs of all time from my favorite musical. If I sat down and listened to it today I'll bet I could still sing 70% of it correctly. Thanks for the uplift!

You knew just what I needed to hear. This week I feel like I'm being pulled in so many different directions. My wants and my needs are confusing me. Maybe a meditative walk in the cold will help. That's usually when I hear Him best. Great poem. Gretchen

Your poem is so beautiful and fun. I found myself figuring out which scriptures you were referencing as I read it. You have us a list of scriptures to inspire and comfort us while presenting a puzzle to solve as well. The music at the end was icing on the Sunday morning cake.
Love you lots,
Rhonda
