Hi Pamusart, This poem is rich with vivid imagery and adequately conveys that animals live in the present.
'Not understood by hen or fox,
we set the time and watch our clocks.'
This couplet is my favourite; it says it all.
Well done. - Terry

Well done. Animals are streets ahead of us. We think, plan and decide. The fox knows her pack need feeding.
Man kills for sport, animals kill to eat. There is much to learn from the animals if only one will watch. A most enjoyable poem, loved the photo. A well written AABB story/poem. K xx

Comment from Pam Lonsdale
What a clever poem. The only sense of time an animal has is when it's time to eat, to hunker down in fear, and to protect what it knows needs protecting.
We create these rules and set these boundaries for ourselves so that we fit into the society we've created. Ah, to be free like the fox:-)

Comment from Sanku
There was a time when men too did not need watches They would look up at the sky or at the ground at shadows and correctly know the time. His brain invented gadgets and he lost all those powers. Recent example is the ability to add. 64 plus 58 could easily be done mentally but now people need calculator....Animals instincts are strong..

Thank you, Sanku for your thoughtful and wonderful review. I can still add those two numbers together, but I admit as I get older it's hard to add more than two numbers together

Animals do have a different sense of time. As you said we use a contrived system of time so we can arrange to meet one another and follow the same schedules and even turn back the clock! But animals sense when there a slight change in the breeze, a different temperature, when certain trees bloom etc. The Native and ancient peoples were closer to nature that way. Thanks for sharing.
Are you out of the hospital now? Sending hugs and prayers for healing!

Yes I am out of the hospital. I got out about a month ago. Thank you for asking. I'm doing very well. The surgery fixed many things.

That's a good to hear. Roy said you were in the hospital recently. I knew about the previous one. Thanks for the update. Glad it helped! 💞

This is an excellent poem Pam portraying so well the life of a fox. The rhyme, rhythm and content are all spot on. A very worthy six star poem. Best wishes Jen.

Comment from Daniel Milton Taylor
I really enjoyed this poem. It flowed and rhymed really well while telling the story of Time. I'm always fascinated by humans and animals. We both were created by God with an internal ability to navigate the Earth. It's always amazing how many of us have lost that ability and have to rely on man-made things to help us out. The animals just keep on rolling.
Take care, Daniel

Your fine work with meter and rhyme really stands out here. Animals have such a keen internal time mechanism. It really is amazing. I had a dog once that knew every night within a minute when it was 5 oclock. Love the artwork you chose as well.

I dare say these foxes have a body clock the same as we do. If I am in the habit of waking in the middle of the night, I cannot seem to change it so easily. I enjoyed your quaint story about the fox and his hunting habits Pam, love Dolly x
