This is so beautifully written that it took me right into the scene and I could see myself there with every move that was made. Your writing is very well done and I always enjoy your work. Patricia.

This is a beautiful love story and so so romantic. I loved reading. These short stories are something you truly excel at. Wonderful job of writing.

I love the idea of singing stars.

It's been a while since I got back into writing the shorts, but I do enjoy them. Especially when I can use my emotions. Thank you so much, Barbara for the compliment and the review.

oh Carol, what a wonderful scene you set. I could almost hear the bullfrogs and visualize that old truck with colorful flowers blooming in the bed of it. and the special visitor you had for those few minutes brought me close to tears. Thank you so much for sharing.

I do have Mike's truck sitting out here and I keep saying I'm going to put a flower bed in the back so it adds some color to it when I look at it. I am thrilled you enjoy my little shorts. They make me feel so good,

you really should! Make a sign to put in with the flowers that says: Love still blooms.

I actually should either put new brakes on it (2005 Dadge Ram 1500) with 100,000 miles or sell it, but it's the last thing I have of his and I just can't make myself do it.

Your opening is great, with a simile and a good description. Good conversation. It took me a bit to realize she was alone, as I assumed the empty rocker was for the daughter. I like that the bullfrogs remind her of his cronies singing away the night. Good story! Hugs! Carol

Yes, a most enjoyable read and an excellent use of dialogue as it moves the story along so effectively - memories re lived, and a great title to draw the reader in.

Your story beautifully shares Sadie's connection to her late partner. Your descriptions makes me feel like they're sitting right beside her on the porch. Her conversations with the empty chair are amazing. It's such a moving story. Beautifully done!
