I am wondering if I should speak to him. But I assume they must have paid their subscription, so in that sense they are legitimate, and can pm anyone they choose. But I hate to think someone may lose money to what may well be a scam. Thanks so much for reviewing.

I have received several messages asking to work with me because they are so impressed with my writing...LOL But as you say, no proof that they have read anything. I sent them on to Tom and he handled the situation. Now we aren't even safe from scams on Fanstory. Loved your letter though.

I have saved a copy of them to my computer. The thing is they will have had to pay FS subscriptions so are in that sense legitimate and can PM whoever they want. Perhaps I'll wait and see if any more come, but it's really quite weird. Three within four days and I've been on FS for nearly four years. They can't be legit if they are not even willing to review a piece they are "so impressed" by! Ah well. It takes all sorts! Thanks for reviewing, I appreciate it a lot.

Tom told me not to delete the message and to let him know...then he goes in and does something and their account gets deleted. Or that's how I think I understood it.

Thanks for the warning, Wendy. I have not received any such offers. Perhaps it's because of your recent publications? Someone else said they got such offers. I wouldn't contact anyone who did such "cold calls" without reviewing. Are they really Fanstory members? I'd tell Tom about them.

There's no way I would contact them when they have quite obviously not read my work, and I know nothing about them. It is a sarcastic warning to others not to be gullible and part with any money. They seem to have joined this September, but have written nothing and are following no one. Thanks so much for reviewing. Much appreciated.

This sounds like a whole lot of horse pucky to me! Not worth responding to wasting your FS cash on. It's no different than those phone calls you get trying to sell you a new roof on your home because they say they know you need one but they don't know you well enough to realize you are renting! You have real people who will read your great stories and review them happily.

Exactly. One time we had a phone call from a man insisting we needed a new roof, and that he'd been able to tell by looking at it from the street. Yet our house wasn't visible from the street!
Yes, I agree. I hope others will read this and be warned off. They are just after money by flattering people - and who knows if they can even draw a cicle or a square or a stick figure?!

Thank you Kahpot. I fear they are scammers, trying to flatter people into giving them some business. They very clearly do not read what I write, and have not become my fans. Great review.

No, I haven't received a message like this before Wendy, but I used to have messages from one particular Fanstorian who would not review my work but would simply say they enjoyed my poem in a message! These are not genuine members Wendy and I would just simply ignore their communications, love Dolly x x x

Yes, totally agree. In it to see who is flattered and gullible enough to pay them! I have another person (a real member) who constantly bookmarks my work but never reviews it. This was a very sarcastic post, hoping to warn others and deter any further communications (not that they'll read it!). Thanks so much for reviewing. Much appreciated.
